Tessie Musalia's Roles After Landing Office Of Spouse To Prime CS

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s wife, Tessie Musalia, officially took over the newly created Office of the Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary on Friday, February 24.
The new office will see Tessie undertake four key roles including focusing on improving the lives of children and families.
She has been tasked with enhancing health with an emphasis on maternal and child healthcare, a role that was synonymous with former First Lady Mama Margaret Kenyatta, which saw her launch the Beyond Zero initiative that impacted the lives of thousands.

"The office is committed to promoting the well-being of Kenyan citizens by enhancing health with an emphasis on maternal and child healthcare.
"Also, promote the protection of the environment and improvement of sanitation," Musavadi explained during the launch of the office on Friday evening.
On Saturday, February 25, Mudavadi noted that spouses of political leaders serve as much of an important role as their husbands in government, as is the case with, among them, the First Lady.
"I believe the days when the spouses of political leaders only appear in ceremonies and say or do nothing are gone. Their contribution to our family set-up should be mirrored by the larger society for they learn so much from our daily leadership engagements.
"Forming the Office of the Spouse to The Prime Cabinet Secretary is a step in the right direction. Tessie has stepped forward with Ushiriki Wema Initiative to scale down the huge gap that lies within the differently abled people in society," stated Mudavadi.
The Prime CS further called for Kenyans to pull together and support Tessie in the noble cause that will impact many lives.
The Office of the Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary was established by the Government to complement the work being done by the Office of the First Lady and the Office of the Spouse to the Deputy President.
The physical address of Tessie’s new office is yet to be made public with taxpayers set to spend more to finance its operations.
Her role will see her join Mama Rachel Ruto and Pastor Dorcas Rigathi in driving the development agenda of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto has been passionate about the economic empowerment of women and is the brains behind various initiatives while Pastor Dorcas has been championing the mainstreaming of the boy child.
"One thing that underwrites this kind of office is that the ambassador of families had decided to step out of herself, and her immediate family to make a difference in the Kenyan community," Secretary to the Cabinet Mercy Wanjau stated.
