Mwinjoyo FM, a Gospel radio station based in Nakuru, was on Thursday, May 11 robbed by gun-wielding men during a live broadcast involving its evening presenters.

In a video seen by Viral Tea, the presenters were going about their business of entertaining their listeners live on air before their show was cut short by the sudden entry of three men wearing balaclavas.

Zima hio kitu. Zima haraka! (Switch off that thing. Switch it off quickly!),” demanded one of the robbers as the other moved to ransack the entire studio.

As the robbers, armed with a heavy rifle and a machete (panga) combed the studio, the presenters were ordered to lie down.

Ni nini unafanya wewe? (What are you doing?)," posed one of the robbers who kicked one of the presenters who were lying on the ground.

Nani ako huko juu? (Who is upstairs?)," demanded the gang with the belief that other staffers of the radio station had hidden from the daring criminals in fear for their lives.

As the ordeal captured in the three-minute video continued to unfold, the robbers kept monitoring the entrance in case someone happened to walk in on them unnoticed.

Meanwhile, one of the robbers noticed that they could have been captured on CCTV in their nefarious activities, even though they shrugged off the camera placed in front of the presenters that was filming the whole thing.

“Where is the CCTV? Where is the CCTV?” they asked.

The victim complied and directed them towards the CCTV while asking “And you are on Facebook Live?”

At this point, the robbers realised that the phone was recording the presenters, which they took and switched off.

During the ordeal, they fled with phones and other gadgets from the studio while donning masks to conceal their identities.

The video was shared across social media platforms with calls to the authorities including the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) made to track down the suspects.

Others believed resembled plain-clothes police officers owing to the rifle they had in their possession and the commands issued to the presenters.
