A video of a priest who was invited to bless the new Quiver Lounge entertainment joint that opened in Murang'a County has gone viral.

The priest on Friday, November 11 was brought to offer his blessings to the new facility that was opened in Kenol Town, bringing the number of Quiver Lounges in the country to two, from its Nairobi one along Thika Road.

The 'man of God' could be seen sprinkling holy water outside the premises while his clergyman held the basin full of water for him, as he passed by to sanctify the joint, followed by other invited guests, the joint's waiters and some police officers.

His actions however drew a bit of controversy as Kenyans on social media were left wondering if it was the right thing to do given that his profession is known to be against the nightlife filled with all manner of debauchery.

"A priest dedicating Quiver Kenol. You can now drink, twerk and strip and etc. The church has okayed," wrote Solomon Kuria.

"The grand relocation of Quiver lounge was overseen by a priest. A brothel! Anyway kila mtu na kondoo wake (everyone with his own sheep)," Immanuel Kant added.

"It's good to pray for your business and that's what they were doing at Quiver Kenol," DJ Eynie added.

Features

According to photos shared by the entertainment premises on social media, the club has adopted the same setting as its Nairobi branch, though the space is smaller compared to its pioneer facility.

Just like its big brother, the new joint comes with a nyama choma base, a fast food canteen and an appealing design with two different counters well stocked with various high-end wines and spirits.

The club is located at the newly opened Kilele mall consisting of Magunas Supermarket, a petro station and Muthokinju paints and Tiles store.

So far, it has attracted a huge number of revellers even drawn from Nairobi, given that it is an hour's drive from the Nairobi CBD.

Quiver Thika Road was among 43 Nairobi clubs that were recently staring at a closure after complaints were raised about excessive noise and vibration on licensed liquor premises from various resident associations and the general public, leading to inspection due to non-compliance.

However, Nairobi Deputy Governor Njoroge Muchiri reinstated the licences of the 43 joints on condition that they comply with the set regulations and that the bars and restaurants should not interfere with the livelihood of other Kenyans.
