She Has Never Texted Me Back: Kevin Mboya Reveals New Details On Girlfriend Surprise

Digital Media Consultant and Marketer, Kevin Mboya attacked his girlfriend on Monday, January 30 for refusing to answer his text messages after his surprise to her, which involved travelling from Nairobi to Kwale, completely failed.
In a near-11 minute video released on his YouTube channel, Mboya uncovered in-depth details of the grand surprise at the coastal county, which began a day before his viral post on Twitter on Thursday, January 26.
According to him, he had purchased the bouquet of flowers at City Market before heading to Syokimau, at the Nairobi Terminus Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) station where he boarded a train to his intended destination.
“The whole thing began on Wednesday at 11 am when I left my house to go to town, I went to City Market and bought the flowers. I had already booked an SGR train that was leaving at 3 pm, I boarded the train and along the way, I was thinking about how things would go because I had not told her and we were having issues so I thought I could use that opportunity since the next day was her birthday.
"I travelled well and arrived at 8:10 pm, I spent the night at my friend’s place and the following day," he revealed.
Because the SGR trip concluded in Mombasa, Mboya departed the coastal city the following day towards Kwale, where he showed up at her girlfriend's office armed with the bouquet of flowers for the surprise; she was celebrating her birthday at the time.
He informed a receptionist there that he arrived to see her, at which point he was directed to sit in an area to wait for her.
"At 4 pm I decided to text her saying I’m around waiting so that we can go home together. At 4:30 pm, I decided to call her because she had not responded to my message.
"She did not pick and after 10 minutes I called again and the number was busy. They were almost closing the office and I was wondering why she was not responding to my messages and calls," he added.
Hours later, the receptionist informed him that they were closing the office for the day, and fearing that she would not show up, he tried reaching out to her once more and sent her a text on WhatsApp, despite her being offline.
“I told myself maybe she doesn’t want to see me or maybe she had left the building with another door. I left and went back to my friend’s place in Mombasa.
"The next day it dawned on me that maybe this lady doesn’t want anything to do with me. I decided to come back to Nairobi," he went on.
Mboya lamented that she has not responded to his message to date and could not see her status on WhatsApp. Not knowing what had transpired, he explained that he had to return with the flowers because he was unable to find her.
“Up to today, she has never texted me back and even now I don’t see her status on WhatsApp, I don’t know what happened so that’s how things turned out. And that’s why I had to come back with the flowers because I never found the person I was supposed to give the flowers to so I had to come back with them.
"I’m yet to hear from her. Maybe one day she will come out and tell me this is what happened, as of now I know nothing," he added.
In another interview, Mboya denied claims that he was using his narrative to chase clout, arguing that the game of love cannot be scripted. He also declared that he would not return to Kwale to look for her.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Mboya is a flexible professional social media manager, article writer, humanitarian proposal writer and social media profile optimizer with over seven years of experience.
He is also a youth leader and volunteer as well as the CEO of Comfy Decor Kenya. He interned at Kenya Red Cross in 2018 after graduating from Maseno University where he pursued Political Science and International Relations with Information Technology.
His ordeal sparked an outpouring of mixed reactions online, with politician cum businessman Alinur Mohamed offering to pay for his one-week vacation to Dubai and Ksh700,000 for his use if he finds him.
The girlfriend who is yet to be identified is yet to respond to Mboya's story by the time of publication.
