Police alongside the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were alerted to the scene where they transferred the body.

They cordoned off the areas as locals flocked to the residence gate to see the body of the deceased.

Investigations kicked off to establish the identity of the woman, which was yet to be established by the time of going to press, as well as the circumstances that led to the shocking incident.

This comes at a time when the number of deaths reported in short-term accommodation spaces with investigations still ongoing on some of them which made headlines.

This also brings to light the concerns regarding the fact that many murders and deaths have occurred in short-stay accommodations this year alone.

In mid-January, a General Service Unit (GSU) officer was arrested in Lang'ata on suspicion of being involved in an alleged suicide incident involving a 28-year-old woman, Nelvin Museti, who was found lying dead at the back of the apartment block after she was believed to have jumped on Sunday, January 14 at around 5.50 am.

A forensic analysis of the victim's phone suggested his potential presence during Museti's death, with a police report documenting the incident indicating that the late Museti was living alone in the apartment when she reportedly jumped from the third floor of an apartment building in Lang'ata.

In a similar case, four Nigerian nationals were detained in connection to the tragic death of a 25-year-old man in the Riruta area, Nairobi. He was reported to have fallen off the fifth floor of a balcony in the residential area.

A post-mortem examination conducted on the body of Charles Waga Otieno, the 25-year-old man who is also a rapper, failed to reveal the exact cause of the death. The deceased had multiple fractures on the head as well as internal bleeding.

Initial investigations had found that the late Waga had jumped off the fifth floor of Corner Heights Apartments, Naivasha Road, to his death, but the results did not establish exactly what killed him, with findings kicking off a series of possibilities that could have culminated in Waga's demise.
