A post-mortem examination conducted on the body of Charles Waga Otieno, a rapper reported to have fallen off the fifth floor of a balcony in the Riruta area, Nairobi, failed to reveal the exact cause of his death.

The examination conducted on the 25-year-old's body by a private pathologist showed that the deceased had multiple fractures on the head as well as internal bleeding.

Initial investigations had found that the late Waga had jumped off the fifth floor of Corner Heights Apartments, Naivasha Road, to his death, but the results did not establish exactly what killed him, with findings kicking off a series of possibilities that could have culminated in Waga's demise.

"On the final report I can't comment because we don't know the findings on what could have led to his death, whether he was pushed, what he consumed in the house or something like that," the pathologist stated.

While the final report detailing the cause of death is with detectives, family and friends are suspecting foul play, pointing to four Nigerians currently in custody over the death of the budding rapper.

Waga on Monday, January 29 embarked on a routine assignment to deliver a carpet to a Nigerian client residing in Room 56 on the seventh floor of the apartment.

According to his colleagues, he left his phone charging in the janitor's office at a car wash located on Naivasha Road, off Ngong Road, before taking the lift.

"He did some finishing touches on the carpet and stated that he had gone to deliver the carpet to the Nigerians," one of his colleagues stated.

"30 minutes later, I was contacted by a neighbour who stated that one of our guys fell from the apartment. Upon arrival, we found his body already moved from the crime scene and into a car."

Waga was rushed to the emergency room of a private hospital and efforts to resuscitate him were futile as he passed away. Meanwhile, the deceased's phone was recovered from the janitor's office and it was revealed that he received Ksh400 compared to the Ksh800 charged for the carpet service.

Waga's colleague speculated that the price negotiations for the carpet service could have led to an altercation with the Nigerians.

"He had left his phone to charge in the janitor's room. We found that he had been sent Ksh400 and the price for the service was Ksh800, so we don't know what happened," his friend remarked.

Additionally, police officers found his clothing including; pants, slippers, a beanie (marvin), and an earring, in the hallway leading to the house where he'd gone to deliver the carpet.

Waga's family believes that the earring belongs to the suspect as it did not belong to the victim.

"We pray that the police expedite the investigations to unravel what happened," one of Waga's friends stated.

Neighbours had previously observed that the Nigerians seemed unbothered by the ordeal, further intensifying the mystery surrounding Otieno's death. A closer inspection of the apartment's balcony revealed railings deemed too high for someone to simply jump off, casting doubt on the initial description provided by the suspects.

The four foreign nationals are being held at Satellite Police Station pending ongoing investigations by the police, who are treating the case as a homicide.
