An argument between a 29-year-old woman and her boyfriend on Tuesday night, February 21 brought a sad ending as she jumped to her death from the fourth floor of her apartment in Kasarani, Nairobi.
Narrating the events that led to her demise, the boyfriend revealed that he and his lover, identified as Brenda Kawira Gitonga, had moved to the bedroom at around 11.30 pm where her mood changed.
She left the room and went to the balcony, and it was at this point that the man heard a loud thud, which prompted him to check the sitting room, kitchen and the other rooms in the house to find out where Kawira was.

He told police that he then decided to look for her on the balcony only to be shocked to see her on the ground floor. He rushed to the ground floor and sought neighbours for help, afterwhich the woman was rushed to Uzima Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police who visited the hospital found Kawira dead with visible injuries. According to the police, the deceased had bruises on her right thigh, her neck, left cheek and lower limb.
Her body was moved to Kenyatta University awaiting an autopsy as police carried out investigations. Meanwhile, the man added that his girlfriend had expressed dissatisfaction with the state of their relationship.
The incident came just days after the tragic death of Christine Rayon Lantel, who jumped six floors down to her death from an apartment block in Kasarani, with police revealing that the woman disagreed with her boyfriend over another woman calling his phone.
Lantel thereafter jumped from the sixth floor of the Amani House apartment located along Thika Road Mall (TRM) Drive in Nairobi County.
Officers investigating the case said the woman and her boyfriend had just arrived from a drinking spree when another woman called the man.
A similar case grabbed entertainment headlines after Armaan Alami alias King Alami survived a fall from the 7th floor of a high-rise building at Lumumba Drive, Roysambu, Nairobi on October 22, 2022. However, she seemed to hold a personal vendetta against her ex-girlfriend, Kenyan singer Natalie Florence, also known by the stage name Noti Flow.
Alami spilt the beans on a blue Volkswagen that Noti had gifted Alami when they were together, dismissing it as a front to gain popularity and keep her name trending on social media.
She was responding to a curious netizen who sought clarity on why she had not been seen driving the expensive car in a while, especially after Alami had lost one of her arms during the fall.
Alami replied that Noti had never given her a car in the first place and that she spent Ksh1.5 million purchasing it for herself.
