35 Duties Allocated To Ruto As President 

Being the President of the Republic of Kenya comes with its own set of responsibilities executed during his tenure consisting of a maximum of two terms.

In the first Executive Order of 2022, President William Ruto's office has been allocated 35 functions with 16 institutions reporting to him.

This is however compared to his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua whose office only has eight functions.

They include:

1. Overall Policy Direction and Leadership
2. Promotion of National Unity and Protection of National Interest;
3. Civilian Oversight of National Security Organs
4. Custodian of National Security Policy and Strategy.
5. Oversight over the National Intelligence Service Management of the Assumption of the Office of the President.
6. Co-ordination of Functions of Ministries and State Departments 
7. Chair Cabinet.
8. Chair National and County Governments Co-ordinating Summit. 
9. Appointment of Attorney-General.
10. Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Policy Management;
11. Advisory on the Management of Kenya’s International Borders;
12. Appointment of Cabinet Secretaries;
13. Appointment of Chief Justice, Deputy Chief Justice, and Judges of Superior Courts;
14. Appointment of Principal Secretaries;
15. Appointment of Chairpersons and Commissioners of Constitutional Commissions;
16. Appointment of High Commissioners and Ambassadors;
17. Appointment of Chairpersons of State Corporations;
18. Appointment of State/Public Officers as provided by law;
19. Establishment of Public Offices in accordance with the Constitution;
20. Conferment of Honours in the name of the people and the Republic;
21. Administration of Power of Mercy;
22. Accreditation of Foreign Diplomatic and Consular representatives;
23. Annual Reporting to Parliament on the Realization of National Values, Principles of Governance, National Security and Fulfillment of Kenya’s International Obligations;
24. Implementation of the National Cohesion and Integration Values;
25. Co-ordination and Delivery of National Priorities and flagship Programmes;
26. Public Service Reforms;
27. Management and Monitoring of the Public Service Performance;
28. Co-ordination of Counter-Terrorism Strategy and Policy Implementation;
29. Co-ordination of Counter Radicalization, Disengagement and Rehabilitation;
30. A focal point for Bilateral and Multilateral Partnerships in Counter Terrorism
31. Creation and Co-ordination of Commission of Inquiry and Tribunals;
32. Co-ordination of Women's Rights Initiatives as vested in the Women Rights Agency;
33. Resource Surveys and Remote Sensing
34. Parliamentary Liaison; 
35. Liaison of Constitutional Commissions; and State House Spokesperson.
