Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Esther Akoth, alias Akothee, is expected to tie the knot with Caucasian boyfriend Dennis Schweizer ‘Omosh’ on Monday, April 10, which also happens to be her birthday.

The highly-anticipated wedding is currently taking place at the Windsor Golf Hotel in Nairobi and has attracted some high-profile personalities, most of whom are from the government.

Those in attendance include Public Service and Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa, Kisumu First Lady Dorothy Nyong’o, Migori First Lady Agnes Ayacko, EALA MP Suleiman Shahbal, Langata MP Felix Odiwuor (Jalang'o) and former EACC chairperson Professor PLO Lumumba.

Others include; media personality Janet Mbugua, radio presenter Alex Mwakideu, comedian Njugush, and actress Sandra Dacha among others.

Akothee is set to take her vows under a giant white dome garlanded with sparkly crescent moon chandeliers and festooned with white and green flowers. She was photographed wearing a wedding gown costing Ksh700,000 as well as shoes going for Ksh172,000.

She previously disclosed that she got the gown from Mery’s Couture, a Switzerland-based clothing brand that specializes in bridal, men and women’s fashion. For their bridal looks, Mery’s Couture claim to produce the most beautiful wedding dresses in all of Switzerland.

According to their official website, they have several wedding gown styles, each with an identifier name including Goldie, Brautkleid Georgia, Galina, Gina, Grazia, Gretel, Fairy, Finia, Belanna and Adrianna among tens of others.

Her bridal team consists of, among others, her daughter, Fancy Makadia, whom she welcomed back to Kenya from Paris, France where she was reportedly living and studying; as she announced that she was one of her flower girls. Dacha was revealed to be her one-man wedding planner.

Akothee also outlined the rules for her wedding guests as she said she did not expect any family politics to take centre stage on her big day.

"This wedding is exclusively for invites by card only. One card admits only one. Unless it’s (Mr & Mrs or indicated on the card… well communicated). Welcome to Africa, and welcome to Kenya. Walk mommy down the aisle.

"Karibu Kenya Prudence Vanpelt, Akothee’s daughter. Msilete (don’t bring) propaganda and family politics to my wedding. The only people going to miss my wedding is my two sons who won’t make it due to school regulations but they will witness the one scheduled for July 10," she stated in one of her social media posts.

Akothee and her family members, especially her siblings have not had the best relationships, mostly with her sister. The bitter rivalry between the two sisters came to light a few years ago after Edgar Obare exposed Cebbie for backstabbing Akothee.

Previously, the mother of five alleged that the issues between her and her siblings were not simply sibling rivalries but stemmed from jealousy.

“It makes no sense for an older sibling to support the younger one and then begins to compete with them. How can you compete with a project you helped create? It’s like competing against yourself. Unless you’re fighting over family inheritance, there’s no such thing as sibling rivalry. Call it what it is: jealousy,” she wrote in a previous Instagram post.

The strained relationship caused Akothee not to attend her sister’s wedding last December.

Early April, Akothee jetted back to the country from France, where she had gone shopping for her gown ahead of her wedding to her Swiss fiancé. It was here that she clarified the number of times she has been married.

“I have tried getting married three times, but it never worked out. I was only once married once to the father of my children. The other two white exes I was with, never married me. At some point, I thought I would get married to the father of my third child, but it turned out to be an extreme sport being with him,” Akothee said.
