President William Ruto's daughter, Charlene Ruto, broke her Twitter resilience to respond to Kenyans On Twitter (KOT) who have been using a nickname against her for the better part of the week.
On Friday, November 25, the nickname 'Quickmart Ivanka' was posted by a user who has since restricted public access to her account. Nonetheless, Charlene's series of high-level engagements in recent weeks across the country only made the name more popular, despite not having an official government role.
The netizens took to compare the third-born daughter of the Head of State to Ivanka Trump, the daughter of former US President Donald Trump, who faced criticism in similar circumstances over her engagements in high-profile public events despite her father not appointing her to a government role.

KOT added "Quickmart" to the nickname to refer to the supermarket which has been rapidly expanding across the country, with 53 branches in 13 counties across Kenya since opened, hiring over 5,000 workers and offering shoppers items that they need at an affordable price.
It was established in 2006 with its first branch in Nakuru town.
On Monday night, November 28, she laughed off the "Quickmart Ivanka" moniker and went to the extent of sharing a photo and video of her shopping in the popular supermarket while queuing in front of its logo to pay for the goods.
"Fresh and easy does it. We move regardless. Where are we popping up next? #Onward #AchievingThePlan," she captioned.
The public relations officer and branding officer at Weston Hotel, Nairobi, which is owned by her father, has been instrumental in ensuring that the Head of State's legacy is secured even after he leaves office at the end of his tenure.
Her local and international expeditions have been on an upward trend, with Charlene meeting governors and county officials as well as visiting learning institutions, among others, that have seen Kenyans largely question the role of the first daughter since children of all Kenya's four presidents barely operated in the public limelight.
Charlene first caught the public eye when she flew off to Ghana on a private trip accompanied by young politicians, among them Njoki Wa Mathira, and Mike Sagana, who shared photos posing with the first daughter alongside other people.
"With a delegation from Kenya, paid a courtesy call to Ghana Infrastructure Investments Fund and discussed how Ghana and Kenya can learn from each other in strengthening investments," Njoki captioned.
Upon her return to the country, Charlene interacted with top government officials ranging from governors, deputy governors and other executives, all within a short period.
On Thursday, November 24, she met Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu and afterwards conveyed her father's message urging Kenyans to take up tree-growing initiatives and plant 300 trees in their respective farms in the next five years.
“For example, tree planting can be one source of creating employment among the youths who can be given the mandate to manage tree nurseries and let them sell seedlings to Kenyans,” Charlene said after she participated in a tree planting exercise at the Narok county headquarters.
“We want to help the President and the whole world to tackle climate change and all issues that impact negatively on people's livelihood and the economy through our campaign."
