Content creator Director Trevor has unveiled Eve Nyaga as the new face of his YouTube channel in a strategic move to bolster the popularity of his Kenya Online Media channel after he fired his ex-girlfriend, Eve Mungai.

As announced on his Instagram page on Monday, March 18, Trevor stated that Nyaga will fill the void that was left following his decision to axe Mungai, a move that raised eyebrows among many social media users.

Nyaga will assume brand ambassador-like duties for Kenya Online Media, tasked with enhancing the platform's brand image. She will also be the channel's host.

"Introducing the newest face of Kenya Online Media, our vibrant host and brand image Eve Nyaga! Get ready to dive into the heart of entertainment as Eve brings you exclusive scoops and unravels the stories behind the headlines," he announced.

"Stay tuned for a journey filled with excitement, insight, and endless entertainment as She brings her passion and flair to the forefront!"

Viral Tea has established that Nyaga worked as a TV presenter at Y254 TV, a youth channel which happens to be a subsidiary of the state-owned Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC). While at Y254, she hosted shows such as The Buzz and E-Circuit.

Away from her media career, she is a real estate YouTuber and a versatile voice-over artist.

Trevor also announced that his channel expanded to a website platform for all things entertainment.

Spot checks at the time of going to press however revealed that it is yet to go live and should it eventually do so, it could pose a serious threat to rival digital native news websites.

"Also, we Have unveiled our new website, kenyaonlinemedia.co.ke your go-to destination for all things entertainment!" he added.

This expansion underscores Trevor's commitment to catering to his audience's diverse interests and preferences, ensuring they are engaged across multiple channels.

However, despite the recent developments, he has yet to speak regarding the status of Rael Wangari who was previously poised to replace Eve Mungai.

Wangari, who we learnt was poached from BNN, an online media platform owned by Edgar Obare, shared insights into her collaboration with Director Trevor, highlighting how he recognised her potential and invited her to join forces.

The third-year student at Kenyatta University however stressed that she was not aiming to replace Eve Mungai.

"What you have for so long known as Mungai Eve Media has now got a new name to it, Kenya Online Media…under the stewardship of the one and only Director Trevor," she said.

Wangari said the identity of the other crew members will in the interim remain a guarded secret but she had revealed that Captain Nyota is part of the revamped team.

Mungai and Trevor easily mixed business and pleasure, with the latter contributing to the former's success on YouTube through their joint channel which rose to prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Other than being relationship goals, the two made millions from their unified channel, that is Ksh800,000 salary each in YouTube earnings through advertisements instream as well as Facebook, lucrative earnings she lost when they cut ties with each other totally after nearly five years.

In the aftermath of the breakup announcement, Director Trevor seized the YouTube channel that they operated together and announced that Mungai's services would no longer be required, right before he later announced that they had also romantically parted ways.
