Embattled lawyer, Miguna Miguna, will head directly to his hometown in Kisumu County after landing at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Thursday, October 20.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, his eldest brother Eric Odiek revealed a rough outline of his initial plans after his arrival, one that has been highly anticipated by his family, residents of Kisumu and the whole country at large.

Miguna was deported to Canada in 2018 and has been trying to return to Kenya unsuccessfully several times.

Odiek noted that the family had already planned to receive him at the airport when he lands at 6 am and take him directly to his village.

"Upon reaching Nairobi, Miguna said he will head straight to the village. There are several family events he missed like funerals of family members he would like to acknowledge," Odiek explained.

“We were very pleased when he told us he has been issued his passport and the red alert which was placed on him had been lifted. He told us he would board his flight to Kenya on the 19th and land on the 20th."

Odiek additionally thanked President William Ruto for lifting the red alerts issued against him by the previous administration, allowing him to travel back.

“We really felt pain because when one of you is forced out and not allowed to come back home to where he was born. And they allege he is not Kenyan.

"We felt very bad, however, we have forgiven them because he is now allowed to come back. We are pleased and happy,” he said.

Miguna extended an invite to his supporters to JKIA on Thursday. He will fly into the country on a Kenya Airways flight, though he did not specify which route he would take.

"The Government of President William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua has lifted the Red Alerts Uhuru Kenyatta and his goons illegally imposed against me with the connivance of Raila Odinga. My Arrival: October 20 at 6 AM. The Rule of Law, fearlessness, persistence and focus have prevailed," he wrote.

He had earlier demanded outgoing Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and his Principal Secretary, Karanja Kibicho, Ksh7 million that he was awarded as damages by the Kenyan Court.

He also declared that he would only come to Kenya if Ruto is sworn in as Kenya's fifth President.
