Manyara announced that the three-day mourning period would apply to all tertiary institutions across the country.

Furthermore, he urged university students and Kenyans at large to celebrate the legacy left behind by Kaizer, a vibrant and influential figure known for his witty social media presence.

"His innovative spirit, determination, and unwavering commitment to excellence should serve as an inspiration to us all in our common cause.

"May our collective support and shared memories be a source of solace to all in grief. In doing so, we pay tribute to a life well-lived and ensure that Kaizer's ingenuity lives on in our hearts and minds. Together, we stand united in grief, strength, and remembrance of our comrade who now rests in power," he added.

According to reports, Kaizer died on Saturday, February 3, while undergoing treatment at the St Francis Community Hospital in Kasarani.

The 25-year-old had been battling appendicitis and was scheduled for surgery on the day of his untimely demise.

“From social media posts, he looks to have been well till like two days ago. But today, he was wheeled to theatre at a Kasarani hospital for an appendicitis removal but never made it back.

"At 25, he was a force to reckon with on social media and created his brand which engaged with followers in a series of humorous social media posts.” a friend of the deceased identified as Mosoku Geoffrey stated.

Kaizer had carved out a niche for himself in the online sphere, garnering a following with his humorous posts and growing influence.

He was also a key member of the team behind the Grand PR team, a reputable public relations firm.

“Oh God why, why? A brilliant young man, full of life with such a promising future! This is too sad,” communications strategist Pauline Njoroge mourned, joining other Kenyans in offering their condolences.

Others, like Okung Ndege, remembered Kaizer as someone who selflessly put others’ interests above his own and approached his tasks with charming enthusiasm.

Citizen TV journalist Stephen Letoo also mourned the late Kaizer, recounting the special moments he had with him as well as the work ethic that saw him manage all his social media communications as well as records and minutes inclusive of his upcoming events, recalling that he last spoke to him when he was in high spirits.

Kaizer’s journey was not without its challenges, as he once shared his experience of attempting to join the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in a recruitment exercise back in 2017.

Despite setbacks, Kaizer Obed remained resilient and made a lasting impact on those around him.
