Renowned actress Catherine Kamau popularly known as Kate Actress on Monday, January 22 sharply clapped back at sections of the media reporting that her ex-husband Philip (Phil) Karanja forcefully repossessed and sold a BMW X3 he had gifted her.

The narrative originated from Phil revealing to a series of YouTubers during a public event that he had sold off the X3 purchased for Ksh3.5 million owing to high maintenance costs, a move that resulted in him relying on cab transport.

"I love cars a lot, and so I was young and foolish, and I spent so much on my car, and it has been a very expensive journey to maintain.

"I am like, that is a car I would have used wisely somewhere. I sold it. I have decided to go back on Uber," he disclosed.

However, Phil in a statement shared on his Instagram account, explained that the sleek German machine was sold with the mutual consent of his ex-wife, Kate Actress, dismissing rumours of an intensifying row between the two that came after they romantically separated.

“I acknowledge that the blogs are to be sold, and you have had your fun. I wish to officially document that the vehicle was sold with mutual consent, and there are no disputes with Kate, contrary to any portrayals suggesting otherwise,” Karanja stated.

Kate reposted the statement and asked those fueling the speculations to direct their gossip-hungry energy to paying attention to her new series.

“Kindly Redirect that energy to watching the New season of Becoming CEO. We ain't about that life poleni and Thank you,” Kate stated.

Phil famously gifted his ex-wife the Ksh3.5 million BMW X3 in January 2020 for her birthday, a month after the birth of their daughter.
