Motorist Captured Driving At 220 Km/hr Along Nairobi Expressway [VIDEO]
For context, the speed is more than twice the speed limit
A video surfaced on Tuesday, July 5 showing two motorists speeding down the Nairobi Expressway at over 200 kilometres per hour.
For context, the speed which was shown to be 220 kilometres per hour is more than twice the speed limit along the multi-billion road, which is set at 80 kilometres per hour.
The video seen by Viral Tea showed the vehicles racing each other on the straight section of the road, with the co-driver of one of the vehicles recording the whole stunt as it unfolded.

The vehicles approach the Eastern Bypass exit at top speed, which is barely five kilometres from the Mlolongo toll station, which has already seen two accidents in a space of less than a week.
The vehicle, red in colour, could be seen pulling away from the chasing vehicle where the footage was recorded, the latter struggling to keep up with the former.
Meanwhile the former was maintaining a constant distance between the two cars, driving like a speed racer and ignoring the speed limits set on the elevated road.
"Ah! That vehicle is moving, the guy is gone!" remarked the driver of the chasing vehicle.
The camera panned to the vehicle's speedometer which read 220 kilometres per hour, which is almost three times the speed limit.
Kenyans have since widely condemned the actions of the drivers and called upon the authorities to bring them to book.
"If we are going to blow past speed limits doing 100km/h or 160km/h instead of 80km/h, I am afraid that it is only a matter of time before a vehicle flies over this elevated highway onto the road beneath - and with deadly consequences," veteran journalist Saddique Shaban urged.
On the main highway, the speed limit has been capped at 80 kilometres per hour and at 20 kilometres per hour while approaching toll stations.
The most recent accident along the road involved a 33-seater matatu which overturned at the entrance in Westlands. It was operating under the Super Metro Sacco and was reported to be speeding towards the city centre.
The bus overturned at the entrance to the toll station, cutting off the entrance to motorists who join and exit the road at Westlands near Lion Place.
Coincidentally, it came after media personality Caroline Mutoko raised an alarm regarding matatus being allowed to use the elevated road, but her remarks were not taken too lightly by Kenyans On Twitter (KOT).
