DCI Appeals To Kenyans Over 3 More Suspects In Campbell Scott Murder
The message came days after the DCI detectives arrested a key suspect in the murder case after Scott was reported missing and later found dead.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday, March 7 appealed to members of the public to volunteer information that may lead to the arrest of three suspects linked to the murder of British national Campbell Scott.
The message came days after the DCI detectives arrested a key suspect in the murder case after Scott was reported missing and later found dead.
"The suspects are linked to the brutal murder of 58-year-old Briton Campbell Scott, whose partially decomposed body was found on February 22, 2025, in Makongo Forest, Makueni Sub-County. Scott had arrived in the country just days earlier to attend a business conference," stated the DCI in part.
The investigative agency went on to reveal that the trio went into hiding following the crime, hence the appeal to Kenyans to come forward with information that would culminate in their arrest.

"Following the heinous crime and subsequent dumping of his body, the trio Benard Mbunga Mbusu, Samuel Musembi Kamitu, and Alphonse Munyao Kilewa alias Edu fled and have since gone into hiding," added the DCI.
"Would you happen to know their whereabouts? Do you have any information that could help expedite their arrest? Please contact our toll-free hotline at 0800 722 203 at any time to report anonymously, or report to any police station near you."
DCI boss Mohamed Amin on Monday, March 3 revealed that the suspect was apprehended in Mombasa on Sunday, March 2, and later transferred to Nairobi.
He revealed that the suspect had been on the run since Scott’s brutal killing on February 18. The suspect will be brought to court for a miscellaneous application to seek his detention as investigations proceed.
“We have the key suspect in the murder of the Briton after his arrest in Mombasa. He will be in court,” Amin told the press.
Although detectives described the arrest as a significant breakthrough in the case, they did not disclose details regarding the motive for the murder.
A taxi driver and a waiter, who were initially detained as prime suspects, were cleared of any wrongdoing and are set to serve as witnesses in the case. The suspect is scheduled to appear at Milimani Court on Monday, March 3, for the application.
Meanwhile, an autopsy performed at a Makueni mortuary by Government Pathologist Dr. Richard Njoroge yielded inconclusive results, as the soft tissue injuries found on the body were considered too minor to be fatal. Additional forensic tests are now being conducted.
What is certain, however, is that Scott was found dead in Makueni County, his body, wrapped in a sack, in Makongo Forest—about 96 kilometres from where he was last seen. Initial police investigations indicated that the businessman, last seen on February 17 at a conference in Westlands, may have been either struck with a blunt object or strangled.
Initially, there was uncertainty about whether the body belonged to the missing 58-year-old. Notably, the body was severely decomposed, indicating that Scott may have died hours or even days before being discovered.
His hands and legs were tied with a green nylon rope, indicating that he may have been killed elsewhere before his body was dumped in the forest. Authorities retrieved the body and transported it to Nairobi for identification, where it was confirmed to be that of Campbell Scott.
Since the discovery, multiple CCTV footages have emerged in media reports, including one which captured him leaving the hotel alongside Scott. Authorities suspected that the same individual arranged a taxi and accompanied the deceased to Nairobi’s Pipeline estate on Monday, February 17.
