Media personality and comedian Oga Obinna has left Radio Africa Group (RAG) station, Kiss FM.

Speaking to Entertainment journalist Kalondu Musyimi on Tuesday, April 25, Obinna revealed that his contract with the radio company came to an end and both parties opted to end their relationship amicably.

He noted that Monday, April 17 was his last working day at the popular urban radio station.

“I’m no longer at Kiss FM. I have finished my contract. The experience has been beautiful and I have achieved my dream and did everything I wanted to do. And everything I do from now henceforth will be extra.

"If it’s a job or a car, I will be extra. I have driven that car I wanted to drive (apart from Range Rover Sport), lived in the houses I wanted, and worked in an organization I always wanted. I have achieved what I wanted to do and now we move,” Obinna said.

Obinna added that he was doing his clearance at RAG before officially exiting the company while divulging that he had made an attempt to join Kiss FM in 2013 before finally getting his wish in 2022, where he was hosting the breakfast show prior to his exit.

“I have learnt that when an organization cares about its people and talent they thrive more. I have worked in organizations where they really don’t care about their employees. But here I was myself, dressed the way I want and doing my thing.

“I know the reason as to why I have left so let those who want to speculate do it, it’s their job, it's good vibes all around it, and people should not feel bad about it or anything. It’s been a nice run and maybe I might come back or maybe I will not. Time will tell," Obinna added.

Obinna joined the station in March 2022 replacing Lang'ata member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o who resigned to campaign for the seat under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and clinched it during the August 9, 2022, general elections.

His exit comes three months after his former co-host, Kamene Goro, left the station after three years following the lapse of her contract. She was thereafter replaced by renowned radio presenter Sheila Kwamboka aka Kwambox.

On her side, however, she on January 27, 2023, denied reports that she was fired from the station while defending her absenteeism from work at Radio Africa Group which did not sit well with the management.

"No I wasn't fired, my contract ended and there was no need to move up with it. I have no bad blood against anyone. I have also seen those stories, it's OK to talk but do so from a point of information."

"Last year I was sick and I missed work because of it. You can't plan sickness it just happens. I never come to work drunk, it's impossible," she argued.
