Speaking to the media on her final day at the station on Friday, January 27, Kamene revealed that it was her contract that ran its course and that she felt there was no need to renew it.

"No I wasn't fired, my contract ended and there was no need to move up with it. I have no bad blood against anyone. I have also seen those stories, it's OK to talk but do so from a point of information."
"Last year I was sick and I missed work because of it. You can't plan sickness it just happens. I never come to work drunk, it's impossible," she argued.
Despite leaving Kiss FM, Kamene termed the radio space as a dream job for her, adding that she has taken away valuable lessons from her stint at her station.
In addition, she disclosed that she was challenged to venture into self-employment on learning that her previous co-host, Jalang'o, would leave to pursue a parliamentary seat in Lang'ata Constituency, which he eventually got in the August 9 general elections.
"This was my dream job, but what most people do not understand is that radio is not just about talking, I have grown a lot and learned about things I can do. I have discovered a lot of things about myself."
"Jalang'o leaving made me think about self-employment, and jump at the deep end and see what I can do for myself and by myself. I am excited, Employment can make you comfortable sometimes," she added.
Kamene further lamented the challenges of doing early morning radio shows which she expressed led to fatigue.
