This was confirmed through a Gazette Notice issued on Tuesday, May 2, where he will serve in the position for a period of 6 years.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 (5) of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2011, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint — David Adang Oginde (DR.) to be the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, for a period of the (6) years,” the notice read.

Bishop Oginde will now replace Retired ACK Archbishop Eliud Wabukala who retired in December 2022 after serving a non-renewable six-year term.
Appearing before Members of Parliament for vetting on Wednesday, April 5, Dr Oginde explained that he amassed a net worth of Ksh170 million from the various capacities he has served in during his over 40-year career.
The Former CITAM presiding bishop told members of the National Assembly's Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) that his wealth is also attached to a number of properties.
He specified pieces of land in Nairobi, among other properties that he owns jointly with his wife.
"I have not asked any accountant to help us with the valuation of the property" Oginde revealed before JLAC.
"It comprises of houses that we are letting out, our own house where we live, some land that we have here and there and other investments in other insurances on so on."
When asked why he applied for a seemingly demanding job, especially, for servants of God like him, Dr Oginde revealed that he prayed about it first before giving it a chance.
"When this position came up, many people who knew what I have came to me and asked me to apply, I was not very enthusiastic about it, but after praying about it I thought why not," he went on.
Oginde assured the lawmakers that he would serve in the role without fear or favour, as he did during his previous capacity as a Bishop.
He promised Kenyans that he would be held accountable by both the leadership of the country and members of the public.
“There is no school I have passed through to fight corruption but there’s a passion and desire to see a different nation. If I find that Kenyans are committed to these lifestyles and they are not willing to change then I will readily tender my resignation,” he promised.
Oginde's nomination was preceded by a competitive recruitment process undertaken by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
An Architect by training, Bishop (Dr.) David Oginde is the immediate former Presiding Bishop of Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM).
He is also the immediate former Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University and a PhD holder in Organizational Leadership from Regent University School of Business and Leadership, USA; having previously graduated with a Master's Degree in Leadership from PAC.
Bishop Oginde also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from the University of Nairobi; in addition to undertaking Biblical Studies at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (Trinity International University) in Illinois, USA.
