Edday Nderitu, the wife to Mugithi singer Samuel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, issued a statement on Friday, February 24 after photos of Samidoh and nominated Senator Karen Nyamu sent tongues wagging countrywide.

In a statement she posted on her social media pages, Edday laid bare the little-known turbulence that has hit their marriage, one which has subjected her to pain and humiliation.

She expressed how she has been faithful to her husband throughout the 15 years of their union but for the past three years, he subjected her to humiliation on social media and took her for granted.

"It has been exactly 15 years of marriage full of ups and down, it was a humble beginning where little was enough for us, and for the last 3 years it has been nothing but pain.

"I have remained faithful to you regardless of disrespect, humiliation and being trolled on social media, you’ve made me look dumb and taken my silence for granted. I have helped you nature your talent and supported you through it all," she wrote in part.

Edday went on to relay her disappointment towards her husband's behaviour despite supporting his talents, and how it has affected her and their children. She further made it clear that she would not tolerate a polygamous marriage.

"But one thing I have said to you and I am saying here again I will not raise my kids in a polygamy family, especially with a woman who is older than me by more than 10yrs, has no morals and zero respect for my family.

"I have asked God every day to give me the strength to pray for you but today I have nothing to tell God about you, you have dragged and put me and my kids in an ocean of pain may you remember this day," she added.

Samidoh and Nyamu have previously apologised to Edday for their actions, but not much has seemed to change. The singer was yet to issue a response to Edday's sentiments by the time of publication.

Samidoh and Nyamu were spotted together during the burial of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's sister-in-law in Gatanga, Murang'a County for the first time since their altercation in Dubai on December 17, 2022, which consequently landed Nyamu in trouble with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Nyamu had initially revealed that she broke up with Samidoh after the Dubai drama, which also featured Edday who was alarmed by Nyamu's bold approach to her husband, a matter that ignited verbal confrontations between Nyamu and Samidoh as captured in the video that went viral on social media.

After defending her actions by stating that she was under the influence of alcohol and promising to quit drinking in 2023, she penned a statement shared on her Instagram stories, promising to never again repeat her actions since she is a member of a top government arm.

DP Gachagua on his part had urged Samidoh to clean up his family affairs following the standoff and not to embarrass the country during his world tours as a musician.

"Sort out your issues and when you fail, because you are one of our police officers, we will discipline you. We will bar you from going abroad, or in case you go, you will go alone so that we are not embarrassed," he cautioned.
