Radio journalist Teresia Nzau, known by many as Terry Nzau, is a Media Relations, Engagement/Corporate Communications specialist, and Media trainer with a wealth of experience in the radio industry in Kenya.

On Monday, October 11, she announced on social media that she was leaving Mbaitu FM, a radio station under the Eastern Broadcasting Corporation broadcasting mainly in the Kamba language, having been there for more than 12 years.

"Breaking up is hard to do. And, that sentiment doesn’t just apply to romantic relationships—it also holds some water when it comes to leaving a job.

"This is what I have struggled with for months; to say goodbye to my radio fans and friends. Yes, it has been a lump of sadness in my throat but anyway, I have to break it," she wrote.

She acknowledged her fans for supporting her throughout her career and the kind of friendship they have shown her over the past 10 years, a career experience she termed as 'valuable'.

Nzau noted that she left the station in July 2022 for bigger opportunities.

"While I’m excited about the new opportunity, there’s also a big part of me that’s sad to be saying goodbye, to amazing friends. My time at Mbaitu FM came to an end in July, but it’s definitely not the end of our friendship.

"On to the next chapter, I'll miss you big and see you later. This is not a goodbye," she added.

She is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Journalism (PhD) at the University of Missouri in Columbia, USA. This is Missouri's largest university and the flagship of the four-campus University of Missouri System founded in 1839 and was the first public university west of the Mississippi River.
