WATCH: Viral Video Of Foreigner Teargassed During Azimio Protests

The Azimio la Umoja anti-government protests that have dominated headlines in July so far have brought together Kenyans from nearly all walks of life as well as individuals from other countries, as was the case here.
A foreigner with a British accent for example joined hundreds of Kenyans participating to voice their displeasure with the high cost of living and punitive taxes by President William Ruto's government and in typical fashion did what his fellow content creators would do; broadcast the proceedings to his online audience.
The content creator known only as Going Globul, with an audience of over 6,600 subscribers on YouTube and over 3,100 followers on TikTok, took his fans through the proceedings of the Saba Saba demonstrations on Friday, July 7 as they happened; ranging from the arrival of Azimio leaders to teargas battles with police while trying to leave Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi.
Here is the video:
Heavily surrounding him were local guides as well as people who kept chanting that they wanted freedom and food, while others were simply present due to being Azimio leader Raila Odinga's supporters.
"People were carrying clubs, batons and I saw someone with a knife tucked into their trousers earlier on," remarked the content creator.
However, nothing could prepare him for the climax of his orientation of a Kenyan protest; police officers armed with teargas canisters were ready to disperse protestors who would ignore their orders and stay confined to the Kamukunji Grounds.
What was believed to be merely containing stray protestors was made nearly five times more difficult after Raila ordered his supporters to march to Central Park in Nairobi for the next round of the Saba Saba protests.
A mere 10-minute journey turned into a two-hour journey as police fought hard to push back Raila's determined supporters and the content creator soon found himself in the middle of a teargas frenzy.
"I might have bitten more than I can chew here, this is getting mad; the police have thrown teargas, wow this is intense," he exclaimed.
"People are pushing from both ways, it's hard to know what is going on. People are singing, dancing and cheering, we might actually be in the middle of a revolution; it's unlike something I have ever experienced before," he added amid chants of 'Ruto must go'.
When police lobbed teargas into the crowd surrounding him, the content creator shook and almost fell down due to being pushed by protestors who were scrambling for cover while masking their eyes and noses to protect themselves from the stinging smoke.
Tears were streaming down his pink cheeks, and he seemed confused, but oddly enough, he still had his phone which was filming the entire situation unfold and whose footage he managed to upload on social media.
Despite the protests occurring on July 7, the video went viral five days later (Wednesday, July 12) in the middle of fresh nationwide protests staged by the Azimio coalition, sending Kenyans on social media into a frenzy.
Also on July 12, a video went viral showing a man displaying the greatest form of audacity on the Kenyan internet in recent weeks by fearlessly navigating through a barrage of armed anti-riot police, undeterred by the running battles between officers and protestors in Mlolongo.
As tensions reached a boiling point during the protests, with clashes erupting between demonstrators and the authorities, the man seemed unaffected by the tumultuous environment surrounding him.
Kenyans were surprised, given the extent to which police officers were unleashing violence on those caught up in the running battles.
