Aisha Jumwa's Promise In 100 Days To Take Effect
The new opening and closing hours will especially benefit Kenyans who seek their services after 5.00 pm
Cabinet Secretary of Public Service, Gender and Affirmative Action Aisha Jumwa has lived up to her first promise in 100 days in office.
The Huduma Centre will from Monday, December 5 change its working hours from the original 8.00 am to 5.00 pm to 12-hour operations.
Huduma Kenya announced on Tuesday, November 29 that 18 different branches will adopt the 7.00 am to 7.00 pm work schedule a day, terming it a first in Kenya's public service delivery.

The new opening and closing hours will especially benefit Kenyans who seek their services after 5.00 pm when most of them leave their workplaces.
"Good morning, team mapema ndio best (early is the best) and for those who'd like to access services past 5 pm, we have great news for you.
"A first on public service delivery. Starting 5/12/22, we shall start serving Mwananchi from 7 am to 7 pm," the statement read in part.
Huduma Kenya will commence with 18 branches around the country. Kenyans are encouraged to visit the branches in Nairobi GPO, City Square, Makadara, Kibra and Eastleigh in the capital city.
Across the country, Kenyans living in Kiambu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nyeri, Embu, Meru, Laikipia, Kisii, Kitale, Kericho, Kakamega, Kisumu and Mombasa can access the centres there.
"Come get the following services during these hours; issuance of police abstracts, issuance of birth and death certificates, issuance of certificates of good conduct, KRA, HELB," added Huduma Kenya.
Also offered include NTSA services, NHIF and KRA.
Prior to the commencement of the new working hours, Huduma Kenya extended working hours at the Contact Centre in order to serve Kenyans better, from 7 am to 9 pm.
