Another Narrow Escape As WRC Rally Car Almost Runs Over CS Namwamba's Aides [VIDEO]
The incident happened when one of the cars competing in the rally almost ran over them, who were standing by the roadside.
Two marshals working at Sports Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ababu Namwamba's office became the latest individuals to escape death by a whisker during the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally on Sunday, March 31.
The incident happened when one of the cars competing in the rally almost ran over them, who were standing by the roadside.
The driver who was cruising at high speed was filmed driving dangerously close to two individuals after advancing from a corner.
The two marshals were however perplexed on which direction the speeding vehicle would take. One of them sprinted through the road to get to the other side in a bid to escape but was almost run over by the car.
However, the driver managed to recollect his bearings and skidded to avoid hitting the marshal. The other aide ended up in a thicket having missed being hit by the car by inches.
CS Namwamba, in a cheeky statement directed at the driver in question, wrote “Ease ease, Charlie, those are my Stewards there!"
As mentioned earlier, this is the second incident during the event to occur whereby both marshals and spectators have escaped death narrowly.
On Saturday, a spectator escaped an accident by a whisker after one of the participating cars encountered a muddy section which veered it off course.
The incident was captured in a video making rounds on social media where the car belonging to Toyota Gazoo Racing was drifting into the slightly muddy terrain and through a puddle of water.
Much to the cheers of the crowd, the driver appeared to have struggled to drift back onto the course to continue his run, sliding into the watching crowd which scattered when it was near them.
A woman however appeared to hesitate as the rest of the spectators took off, with her swift instinct making her dive towards the ground seemingly to avoid the car which reacted in time, missing her and recollecting its path as it drove off.
