Kenyan singer Arrow Bwoy, real name Ali Yusuf, spoke about the current status of his relationship with fellow musician Nadia Mukami, nearly four months since the latter announced that they had parted ways.

During an interview with YouTuber Eve Mungai on Friday, March 3, the Jango Love hitmaker revealed that at the time Nadia made the announcement, the two were already experiencing hurdles in their relationship.

He further noted that there was a big fight between them but clarified that she was still the mother of their child and the fight was among the rough patches they would have either way encountered in the course of their relationship.

"We have not broken up...ni mambo tu huchemka kwa relationship na ikichemka peaneni nafasi msipigane (Sometimes temperatures rise and when they do it is good to give each other space).

"Tulikuwa tumekosana vibaya sana. As far as I know, Nadia ni mama ya mtoto wangu na mpenzi wangu (We had a very huge fight but Nadia is the mother of my children and my partner)," he said.

On Nadia's post on December 8, 2022, that went viral on social media, Arrow Bwoy explained that people have different ways of processing their emotions, adding that she may have been justified to post that they had broken up.

He further noted that they would not publicise their separation in the event that they would actually break up for good.

"Maybe alipost akiwa na pressure fulani yenye pia najua hakuwa anataka kupost online. Alijipata imetoka na watu wameona na juu ni public figure watu wakakimbia nayo (When she made the post she was also under pressure and I know that she did not mean to do it and because she is a public figure it went viral)," Arrow Bwoy added, noting that the young couple learnt from their mistakes.

The Kai Wangu hitmaker caught many Kenyans by surprise with her announcement, though revealing that they called it quits a while back. Their efforts to keep it quiet were ruined by numerous calls from organisations that have been trying to book them for music shows.

"Just to clarify to the guys trying to book Arrow Bwoy and me, we have not been together for a while."

"I have run out of lies we have not been together for a while, we broke up. Kindly contact individual management for bookings," she wrote, not explaining the cause of the breakup.

Many had believed that Nadia was clout chasing with the split, but she later made it crystal clear that she did not need clout to release a song as she was already an established artist at the age of 26.

Celebrated presenter Billy Miya joined thousands of Kenyans in reacting to the split of the celebrity couple, revealing that relationships have their ups and downs and none of it is perfect, giving an example of how former US President Barack Obama's wife, Michelle Obama, felt that she was doing the majority of the work in their relationship.

"I'm heartbroken, I'm devastated. Nadia and Arrow Boy were and are still my favourite couple. I want to believe it’s not true.

"Marriage is not an easy walk in the park, Mitchel Obama once said there was a time she felt like she was giving 76 per cent of the relationship while Obama was giving 24 per cent," he wrote on December 9, 2022.

Miya expressed worry regarding their son, Haseeb Kai, growing up to listen to some of the sad songs Nadia is predicted to release regarding the breakup.

He urged Nadia and Arrow Bwoy to reconsider their decision to part ways, even offering himself to be a mediator in their relationship.
