Azimio party leader Raila Odinga on Monday, March 20 pulled down a tweet accusing President William Ruto of targeting his children after Winnie Odinga's vehicle was damaged during the coalition's mass protests.
Odinga posted the tweet accompanied by photos of the vehicle's damaged windshield, rear and the visor of the driver's door, claiming that the vehicle was damaged by police.
The former Prime Minister accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of consistently showing animosity towards his daughter Winnie, whose car, a Toyota Prado, was attacked by the police deployed to quell the protests.

"This illegitimate regime has consistently shown animosity towards my daughter Winnie, and today they wasted no time in attacking her vehicle.
"Such shameful conduct should not be tolerated, but we refuse to be intimidated. Ruto and his team should be ashamed of themselves," the former Premier stated in the post which was deleted.
The Prado is known for its spacious design with enough cabin space to offer short and tall passengers comfort. It also has a dual-range, full-time four-wheel drive (4WD), perfect for urban usage and off-road leadership thanks to its power output.
It is available in three engine options, the 2.7l petrol, 4.0l petrol and 3.0 l diesel, all linked to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The import price of its 2015 petrol version ranges between Ksh4.75 million and Ksh5.1 million while diesel ranges between Ksh4.95 million and Ksh5.3 million, while other versions which include one that comes with a sunroof range between Ksh5.74 million and Ksh6.1 million.
Raila also claimed that the police also attempted to harm him by attacking his own personal car in a procession to Juja Road,
"These people want to kill us. They have thrown a teargas canister which damaged my windscreen. Cowards will die many times before their death, but Azimio will continue to reign," he stated.
However, the Spokesperson of the Azimio campaign secretariat Makau Mutua had indicated that the windshield of the vehicle he and Raila were travelling in was damaged by nothing more than a teargas canister.
"We are now under direct attack by water cannon trucks and tear gas. Our windscreen has been badly damaged. A bullet has hit our vehicle in which Baba and I are riding," Mutua claimed.
At Serena Hotel, the opposition leader's motorcade was sprayed with water from the General Service Unit (GSU) water canon.
Additionally, the Police officers lobbed teargas at the protestors and Raila Oding’as convoy forcing them to exit the State House road and head towards Kamukunji where he urged his supporters to carry on with the protests.
Raila spent the better part of the day circumnavigating informal settlements around the fringes of the capital city's Central Business District (CBD) mobilising supporters as police blocked several roads to stop the protesters from accessing the State House.
