Foreigner Killed By Ruto's Speeding Motorcade In Nairobi
Reports indicate that the man was attempting to cross the busy road as Ruto’s motorcade traveled from Lang’ata to Kibra for a project launch.

A foreign national, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, was knocked down by President William Ruto’s speeding motorcade on Thursday afternoon and died.
The accident occurred on Thursday, March 13, along Ngong Road near the Adams Arcade area, when one of the vehicles in Ruto’s convoy hit a middle-aged pedestrian, killing him instantly.
Reports indicate that the man was attempting to cross the busy road as Ruto’s motorcade traveled from Lang’ata to Kibra for a project launch.
The tragic incident drew the attention of other road users who rushed to assist, only to find that the victim had already succumbed to his injuries. Videos and images shared on social media showed residents gathering around the scene, trying to identify the man, who was later covered with a cloth.
Eyewitnesses told the media that despite the accident, Ruto’s motorcade did not stop, raising concerns about security protocols and pedestrian safety during the President’s tour.
Shortly after, a police vehicle arrived, cordoned off the area, and transported the body to Nairobi City Mortuary, where an autopsy is expected to be conducted.
Authorities have since launched investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident, which sparked uproar on social media platforms and added to the intense criticism over President Ruto's development tour in Nairobi owing to controversial occurrences.
The tour has been marred by major chaotic events, and this one comes two days after goons went on a rampant looting and theft spree targeting shop owners, passengers and pedestrians along Thika Road following President Ruto's tour of Mathare and its environs.
In response to the wave of terror that swept the Mathare and Ruaraka constituencies, as well as sections of Thika Road on Tuesday, March 11, police officers launched a crackdown to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for these criminal acts and ensure that public safety is restored.
Today, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the arrest of eight suspects in connection to robbing members of the public in broad daylight, all while President Ruto was crisscrossing both constituencies during his working tour of Nairobi.
The suspects were arrested in Nairobi's Mathare estate after they allegedly stole phones from members of the public during President Ruto's visit to the area. They were taken to Muthaiga Police Station and later brought before the court to face robbery charges.
The eight are among a group of 10 who robbed members of the public of their phones and other valuables in Mathare Area 4.
