Popular American Youtuber Jimmy Donaldson alias Mr Beast captured the hearts of Kenyans following his remarkable efforts to build 100 wells in Africa, 52 of them in Kenya.

The famous YouTuber released a 10-minute video showcasing his efforts after expressing his shock at the ordeals Kenyans have to go through to get the precious commodity for domestic use.

In one such instance, he expressed his shock regarding how school-going children are forced to turn to dirty water for drinking purposes, noting that such projects did not require a lot of money from the government.

He thus called upon willing well-wishers to continue donating funds to help construct more wells and undertake more projects to improve the state of living on the continent.

Here is the video:

"These 100 wells we built in Africa will change a lot of lives but definitely not enough. That is why we need your help," he stated.

A drill used for identifying boreholes was used to tap into water sourced from underground. Once that water is obtained, it is stored in water tanks hoisted by towers which supply clean and easily accessible water to the locals through a spigot.

Donaldson revealed that the continental project took over eight months to complete. The content creator with over 207 million subscribers on YouTube shared the journey showing the before and after of the projects.

While in Kenya, he also constructed a permanent bridge in a local village to replace the one which was in bad condition worsened by heavy rains leading to floods which impacted the structure, putting the lives of the locals crossing it at risk.

As though that was not enough, Mr Beast also donated computers, shelves, books, footballs, whiteboards, and projectors to primary schools in the country.

The Youtuber also went to Zimbabwe, and Cameroon to build more wells to improve the lives of the locals.

Kenyans on Sunday, November 5 seized the opportunity to poke holes into the Kenyan government, drawing comparisons between Mr Beast's project and those launched by politicians.

The video uploaded on YouTube on Saturday, November 4 has since amassed over 33 million views.

"It costs about Ksh10-15 million (with taxes) to purchase a water drilling machine. The minimum constituency gets Ksh131 million in CDF annually.

"It takes less than a week to drill a well, it's possible to do so in each school and town centres country-wide. Mr Beast did it!" Kiprono posted on X (formerly Twitter).

"When you see what Mr Beast has done, and here was President William Ruto commissioning one borehole. First Lady Rachel Ruto has a budget of Ksh593.9 million, and Dorcas Rigathi has Ksh717.6 million. That's 1.3 billion for spouses of Ruto and Rigathi to waste on travel, vehicles and crusades," Boniface Mwangi weighed in.

"The fact that the American-based YouTuber MrBeast built all those wells without any publicity from the media should tell you a thing or two. Our political leaders walk with cameras launching toilets and already existing projects. If they are trying so much to show that they are working then they're not working. It's that simple!" Edgar Bwire, a journalist, added.

While Kenyans were celebrating these acts of kindness, Mr Beast revealed that he was already getting trolled and cancelled for uploading the video helping people, but added that he will continue doing what enjoys doing.

Mr Beast's YouTube channel has the highest number of subscribers in the world, which stands at well over 207 million.
