The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has announced free training for Kenyans through its training college, the East African School of Aviation (EASA).

In a statement on Tuesday, October 10, Kenyans will be offered training on 22 aviation programmes spanning five themes at the institution in Embakasi, off Airport North Road.

The training will occur on Saturday, October 14 from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.

During the open day, various experts will also engage attendees in five thematic areas, including how to keep an aircraft airworthy, fly a plane safely and management of flight turnaround - the period between when a plane lands and takes off from an airport.

"The primary objective of the event is to provide a good opportunity for potential students and the general public to learn more about the aviation industry and interact with professionals in the field. The theme of the open/innovation day is Leveraging on Innovation To Transform The Next Generation Of Aviators," read the notice in part.

Those who will attend will be given an insight into 22 courses offered in aviation schools, including airport operations, flight dispatch, air traffic management, cabin crew and aeronautical engineering.

Others include safety management systems, aviation customer care, electrical engineering and dangerous goods.

Besides members of the public, the institution noted that it targets young Kenyans through the programme who can be moulded into joining the aviation industry, thus learning institutions were urged to take their students to the event.

How To Participate

Kenyans wishing to attend the event were advised to keep time, keeping in mind that no entry fee will be charged.

Attendees were also advised to carry notebooks for the purpose of the training sessions.

Kenyans interested in knowing more information regarding the exercise were advised to contact the institution through 0716164230 or 0206823607.
