Kenyan social media celebrity Huddah Monroe on Wednesday, May 31 declared that she was fed up with netizens spreading fake news about her and her brand across the internet.

In a series of statements she posted on her Instagram stories, the beauty entrepreneur put on notice those fond of making false allegations about her beauty products under her cosmetics line 'Rich Beauty'.

The 30-year-old warned that individuals sharing fake news on the same would be subjected to product testing conducted by a doctor, adding that if found to be false, he or she would be forced to pay Ksh34.7 million as a defamation settlement.

Huddah emphasized that individuals from all backgrounds regardless of their financial status, who will be found culpable will be forced to part with their earnings to cater for the defamation suit.

"If you ever say our product did this and that to you and knowing very well its a lie, we will take you to the doctor we will do all the tests necessary and if it is false, you will pay us $250,000 (Ksh34.7 million) for false accusation and defamation.

"Even if you are poor you'll pay us all you earn for the rest of your life. I will live off of you even if you are in the slum," she cautioned.

The sizzling social media personality declared that she had grown tired of those out to malign her name and brand, given how hard she worked to get where she is now.

"In the coming years, I'm not playing with my brand or my name. It took me so long to get here. Mumenizoea (you have intimidated me) and it's enough," she went on.

She further went on a tirade against those new to the media industry as well as media houses, bloggers and content creators in general known for spreading unverified information about her and her products without seeking clarification, warning that they would be met with the same fate.

"I have built a name for myself through sweat hard work and perseverance. Wewe umeingia media juzi (You just joined the media the other day) you want to shine with Huddah?

"Anyone who publishes anything about me and its lies without looking for facts you and your media house will be in court with me until you come out with the facts or pay me for the ten-plus years I've worked to be where I am. Gone are the days of smiling and letting it pass. It's time I fight for me till the day I die," she added.

Huddah admitted that she has over the last several years allowed bad stories published about her slide. However, she vowed to fight to protect her name by all means necessary.

She turned her attention to Kenyans fond of anonymously sharing information with bloggers and journalists without verification, adding that she was willing to go to whatever extent to protect her name, including exposing their true identities and identification cards (ID) in court.

"Mtajua mimi ni ghetto child, hamtanizoea (You will know that I'm a ghetto child). I have kept quiet for so long but I will never let anyone publish stuff about me again without facts.

Those belonging to 'hide my ID', we will see your 'Hide my ID' and true identity in court. na mtanilipa mpaka mchoke (you will pay me until you get tired) nonsense," she threatened.

She added that "I will fight for me until my last breath no more fake news about me and think I'll let it slide. Warn your bloggers, I'm ready for war."

Huddah Monroe vs Murugi Munyi

Huddah in June 2022 was embroiled in a bitter online back-and-forth with content creator and podcaster Murugi Munyi who was responding to the former's rant which accused the influencer of jealousy following her review of Huddah's skincare line.

The clash of titans began after Murugi Munyi received the new cosmetic PR package and decided to review it while giving her opinion on how the Probiotics anti-ageing kit packaging was easily taken to be a success card.

"One thing that feels like a red flag is, I don't know if it is a red flag or it is just the nature of the manufacturing is that all the products are written the same thing," she said.

"Thanks, Murugi for posting about the PR package we sent you but how's what's written about the product a red flag? Try products and give honest feedback because they work 100%.

"All my products do what they say they do and we give 100! Money-back guarantee if they don't. These influencers think they make us wealthy. If they did, why not open up a business? We only use your image, you don't give us sales," Huddah responded, after which Murugi accused her of body shaming which manifested into a tirade of unprintable insults at the podcaster.
