6 Celebrity Clashes That Made Kenyan Headlines In 2022
They bring on the big guns aimed at each other, loaded with all kinds of dirty linen waiting to expose them for the public to see.

In Kenya, there are two categories of people who anytime they collide, get tongues wagging and fingers typing as well as clicking and typing away. Every piece of vitriol matters.
When celebrities clash in Kenya, anything goes. They bring on the big guns aimed at each other, loaded with all kinds of dirty linen waiting to expose them for the public to see.
Very little goes into resolving differences as most celebrities throw spears at each other and vanish into the darkness, with their words sinking into the murky swamp of forgetfulness as time goes by.
Viral Tea takes a look at six celebrity clashes that lit up the country in 2022:
Huddah Monroe vs Murugi Munyi
Arguably the bloodiest online catfight between two women celebrities took place on June 2022 when content creator and podcaster Murugi Munyi responded to socialite Huddah Monroe's online rant. The cosmetics entrepreneur had accused the influencer of jealousy following her review of Huddah's skincare line.

"I know there is a lot happening online right now but I am here to tell you something, whether you are plus size, whether you are small, whether you are in between, your worth is not determined by your body," she said.
"To whoever is out there shaming fat women, I want you to know that you are beautiful, I want you to know that you are loved and whatever it is that is in you that is making you feel that you need to insult someone who doesn't look like you…I hope that that resolves because that is an ugly and horrible way to go through life.”
The clash of titans began after Murugi Munyi received the new cosmetic PR package and decided to review it while giving her opinion on how the Probiotics anti-ageing kit packaging was easily taken to be a success card.
"One thing that feels like a red flag is, I don't know if it is a red flag or it is just the nature of the manufacturing is that all the products are written the same thing," she said.
"Thanks, Murugi for posting about the PR package we sent you but how's what's written about the product a red flag? Try products and give honest feedback because they work 100%.
"All my products do what they say they do and we give 100! Money-back guarantee if they don't. These influencers think they make us wealthy. If they did, why not open up a business? We only use your image, you don't give us sales," Huddah responded, after which Murugi accused her of body shaming which manifested into a tirade of unprintable insults at the podcaster.
Mulamwah vs Kamene Goro
In a feud that started years ago over the comedian’s comments regarding Kamene’s body size, the Kiss FM presenter used a live morning show in February to shame him for- believe it or not- meeting him face to face.
“He thinks now that he’s a comedian, he can bully anyone. I posted a picture and he commented something extremely hateful.
“When we met, I told him I don’t know you, the first time we met you abused me and I don’t like you. We will never be friends.” Kamene claimed.
Mulamwah did not relent, daring Kamene to declare whether or not she is courting him.
“Kamene kama ananitaka, aniambie tu (If Kamene wants me, she should just tell me),” he wrote.
Nick Odhiambo vs Inspekta Mwala
This was one celebrity feud that almost developed into a fistfight between the two personalities at the Royal Media Services (RMS).
In February, Mwala double parked at the Kilimani-based media house and blocked Nick’s car, sparking a confrontation that worsened when the actor referred to Nick’s BMW as a "small car".
After confronting each other again, the two challenged each other to a boxing match to settle their differences, staged outside the Kenya National Archives in Nairobi CBD in front of a packed crowd, which Mwala won.
Mishi Dorah vs Shakilla, Eric Omondi
Comedian Eric Omondi and socialite Shakilla had dared to upset the nerves of former Nairobi Diaries actress Dorah Clara Ojenge alias Mishi Dorah, especially after Shakilla went on a rant against her while discussing an incident whereby Mishi Dorah was arrested and charged at the Kibera law courts with obtaining Ksh152,550 credit by false pretences after dining and drinking expensive liquor at a city club and jailed for 38 days.
"Stop mentioning cockroaches in this show, who is Mishi Dorah? Why are you mentioning her here?" Shakilla posed as Omondi was defending her by affirming that he was her friend.
"She is everything bad, everything about her is bad. Her nails, her talk, her makeup, her looks, and her hair is bad.”
Taking to her Instagram stories on Tuesday, August 2, Mishi warned Shakilla that she was starting a verbal war she knows she will not come out unscathed.
"Don't start what you cannot finish, remember that you cannot teach an old cat how to dance.
"Ever seen how cockroaches walk in microwaves or ovens when they are on like Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego? Be very careful with this insect, it's small but mighty. It can survive anything and anywhere," she ranted.
Frankie Just Gym It vs Corazon Kwamboka, Maureen Waititu
Celebrity fitness expert Frankie Kiarie, alias Frankie Just Gym It laid bare the insecurities of both his baby mamas by blaming daddy issues between the two women as one of the main causes for the end of their relationship.
He specified by revealing that Kwamboka's father would only show up at her doorstep on very few occasions to ask for something from her, noting that the same conditional love he gave her reflected on her relationship with the fitness guru.
“On top of that, these are issues embedded in us from childhood traumas. The two women who I have been with didn’t have a father figure. This is something Corazon I have talked about, she has never had a father figure," Frankie noted during an interview with Tanzanian media, his sentiments drawing heated responses from Kwamboka thereafter.

Despite Waititu remaining silent on the matter, Frankie eventually apologised to her and Kwamboka, expressing remorse to Waititu that they failed to strike a better understanding of how to manage the end of their relationship.
Turning to Corazon, Frankie admitted to still being in love with her and expressed regret that their relationship did not live up to their expectations.
However, as compared to the dramatic situation where Waititu allegedly denied him access to his children, he praised Kwamboka for allowing him to see them and enjoy a fruitful co-parenting relationship.
Bahati vs Edwin Sifuna
In a clash that traversed both celebrity and political circles, musician cum politician Kevin Bahati Kioko was not at all pleased by the mudslinging he was dragged into by Nairobi senator, Edwin Sifuna, when the former’s wife, Diana Marua, was involved.
This was after Sifuna announced that Azimio had chosen incumbent Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch to defend his seat in the upcoming elections under their ticket.
"Zoning was done perfectly even here in Mathare we have agreed that it's an ODM zone. We only have one candidate in Mathare and that is Oluoch, this young man called Bahati is my younger brother and we will talk. I will make sure that we find him another position within the Azimio government," he said.
Bahati then responded by affirming that he will not step down from the race in favour of anyone. Not having enough, Sifuna shared a video clip on Twitter of the Jubilee party leadership confirming that Bahati was no longer in the race.
“Thank you so much to the Jubilee Party Nairobi for resolving the Mathare question for us. We now have a candidate. Let the crying boy know that I shall take his apology from Diana personally," he wrote.
Bahati fired back at Sifuna with a charged response while claiming that he was paid by his opponent to scuttle his bid as Mathare MP ahead of the August 9 general elections.
