Mombasa-based blogger Mykol Machampali revealed that Ally B died on his way to the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital.

"Ally B is dead. The person who was with him last week said he had been diagnosed with pneumonia.

"He developed complications today. It seems his pressure went up, and as he was being rushed to the hospital, he passed on," Mykol was quoted by TUKO.co.ke

The artiste had recently been diagnosed with pneumonia and had only been discharged a few days prior. Tragically, complications arose, and while en route to the hospital, he passed away.

The news of his death has since sent shockwaves across the entire music industry.

"Oh, Nooooo. This is the saddest news I have heard today. Ally B is no more. Rest in Power," award-winning Kenyan singer, Suzanna Owiyo mourned.

“We're in deep grief to announce the death of our big brother Ally B Khamisi. May his soul Rest In Eternal Peace. Rest in Peace Bro (sic),” singing duo CSM Wazito mourned the departed artiste.

Ally B, real name Ali Khamisi Mwaliguli, had tried his hand at politics and vied for a Member of the County Assembly seat in Junda Ward in Kisauni, Mombasa county under a Jubilee party ticket in 2017. However, he lost out to Musumba Raphael Bwire of the ODM Party.

He however rejected the outcome released by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) insisting that he was rigged out.

The singer is also known for spearheading peace efforts in the coastal city, especially in Kisauni.
