A man who was accused of killing his lover and documenting the premeditated event on social media was found dead in Thika, Kiambu County.

The man who was accused of killing his wife in Nyeri was reported to have died by suicide after hanging himself on a tree.

The man who worked as a security guard took to social media platform X before the murder to claim that his wife, a teacher in Mathira East, had cheated on him and was planning to dump him.

Over the weekend, the man in question caught the attention of Kenyans, after he in a thread shared how aggrieved he was in the aftermath of the woman's decision, even though he sold everything to pay her school fees at the Murang'a University of Technology, thus enabling her to complete her higher education.

The deceased revealed that the two had entered into a relationship in 2016 while still in school before later deciding to cohabit.

From the thread shared on X which drew widespread concern, the man claimed to have resorted to working at night and taking care of a daughter the couple had sired while the lover was attending school.

However, the man cried foul that his lover allegedly changed her behaviour once she graduated and got a good job.

He also claimed that the woman was seeing two different men behind his back and was in communication with them, terming her unfaithful.

The man went on to expose text messages showing her in conversation with the two men while questioning why the relationship ended all of a sudden.

"Rest well my queen. I loved you but you loved someone else. Choices have consequences," he wrote after his wife's death on March 7, 2024.

In a daring act, the deceased tagged not just the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) but major media houses to get a response that was not forthcoming.

The man further noted that he was documenting his experience as a lesson to other people regarding being unfaithful in a relationship.

His confession and last resort shocked Kenyans who criticised the DCI for failing to respond on time, which would have saved the lives of the couple.

Kenyans also criticised the man for deciding to go to extremes instead of simply ending the relationship, adding that a failed relationship is not the end of life.

Kenyans also believed that the man should have simply turned himself into the police to avoid leaving the girl as an orphan.
