A Kenyan woman in the United States (US) sparked wild reactions amongst Kenyans On Twitter (KOT) after she was captured next to the father of Grammy-nominated rapper, singer, composer, and record producer Tory Lanez who was addressing journalists on Friday, December 23.

Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, has since been found guilty of shooting fellow artiste Megan Thee Stallion in both of her feet after an argument in 2020.

Lanez's father, in the video shared by US gossip website The Shade Room, expressed his fury after a Los Angeles jury found Lanez, 30, guilty of three felony counts: carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle; assault with a semiautomatic handgun and discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

Sonstar Peterson was seen shouting "It's not over, God does not lose" while accompanied by a cluster of presumably friends and family who nodded in agreement with his spirited remarks.

Here is the video:

"You want to know exactly how I'm feeling? I just stood here in this Los Angeles county and witnessed the worst miscarriage of justice that this world has ever seen...I got some names that I want to call," he ranted while listing those he claimed were responsible for the act, including rapper and business mogul Jay-Z.

Meanwhile, the woman behind him was voicing out his sentiments in agreement, with an accent that can easily be established by any Kenyan who watches the clip. She would interject with "It's just b-e-g-a-n" and "This is not the f-i-r-s-t t-i-m-e", with the same brazen articulate intonation that you would hear daily with Kenyans and their English.

"Th-e-y met on S-a-t-u-r-d-a-y before, they met on S-a-t-u-r-d-a-y, Saturday n-i-g-h-t," she added at a different interject.

Viral Tea can confirm that the lady is Kenyan and Tory Lanez's stepmother. She met Sonstar online after he moved to the US while working as an ordained minister and missionary following the death of his wife from a rare disease.

Not much however is known about Mrs Peterson who reports intimated is called Wanda Terry Peterson.

"At first, I didn’t think I’d settle here until I met my wife. We were introduced in January 2011 by a friend and we got into a long-distance relationship. I was in Toronto and she was in Nairobi.

"The first conversation we had we talked for about eight hours and in March of the same year I came to visit her family and in June of the same year we got married. Six years later, we have two kids," he revealed during an interview with Eve magazine back in 2017.

Sonstar's love for Kenyan music also grew and had expressed his love for Khaligraph Jones, Mercy Masika and other artists.

"For hip hop, Khaligraph Jones is really good. When we go to reggae, in from the Caribbean so I, critical with reggae, but I think Redsan and Rufftone have a really good reggae sound," he said during an interview with The Standard in the same year.

He also worked with prominent media personalities among them former Kiss FM presenter Kalekye Mumo, singer Amani, NTV journalist James Smart and others.

Tory Lanez now risks over 20 years in prison and potential deportation to Canada over the shooting incident. Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion, 27, had earlier testified Lanez shot at her feet after a pool party in the Hollywood Hills in July 2020, adding the shooting was preceded by an argument that got heated when the two began attacking each other’s music careers.

Following the incident, Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, needed surgery to remove bullet fragments in her feet.

Lanez, though not a household name before the case, has seen his celebrity profile rise since the shooting, earning explicit and implied support from various corners of the hip-hop universe, including influential blogs, social media accounts and the rappers-turned-talking heads 50 Cent and Joe Budden.
