Police launched investigations into the death of 28-year-old popular Instagram model, Aziza Frisby, whose body was found on her bed in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.

The deceased, also identified as Janet Aziza, was found dead with no visible injuries on Wednesday, October 4 in her residence where she cohabited with her sister.

Her roommate had revealed to police on Thursday, October 5 that she had been drinking with the deceased and other friends before they retired on Tuesday night.

Some friends had joined them at the house before they later retired after enjoying the drinks. Aziza however retired to her room alone.

Come Wednesday morning, Frisby had failed to wake up when her roommate who is also a Tanzanian went to wake her up. An ambulance was called to the scene and personnel confirmed she had died earlier on.

Police were also called to the scene and announced that investigations were launched to establish if there was any foul play. The police were also yet to establish the cause of her death.

An autopsy conducted on her body had ruled out a physical attack on her, with suspicions that she died of an overdose. Pathologists had picked samples from her body for toxicology tests.

The tests will play a crucial part in determining if she died of an overdose of the drink she was taking. The tests will further tell if the alcohol had any other substance.

Frisby's body was flown to Tanzania for burial as the entertainment industry mourned her demise. She was of mixed race, with British and Tanzanian roots and had seen a rise in social media appeal since 2017.

Kenyan socialite, Vera Sidika, who was the first celebrity to break news of Frisby's death, expressed her disappointment and frustration over the absence of local celebrities at her funeral in what she referred to as “fake friends” who only offered condolences online but did not make the effort to attend the funeral in person.

“So none of you would take a one hour and 30 minutes flight from Nairobi to Dar to pay your last respect to a person you called a friend. Knowing how Islamic customs prioritize quick burials?

"This is why I say this world is filled with so many fake friends. It literally takes about 24 hours to fly from the USA to Kenya; everything happened so fast, I cannot believe it. Your sister did not even get to see you. I’m so heartbroken right now," she lamented on her Instagram stories.

Sidika added: “The world is full of surprises. In fact, Arusha is too close to Nairobi; you can literally drive there in four hours, and yet some friends could not go to see my baby Janet get laid to rest. My heart is bleeding.”

Frisby had amassed a significant following on Instagram, where she shared her life, fashion, and modelling adventures. By the time of her passing, she had over 40,800 followers on the platform.

The deceased also worked with celebrities such as Willy Paul and Shaq The Yungin among others. She was humble, and goodhearted and will be remembered for her charisma.
