In a notice on Saturday, November 25, the Sacco announced that it will begin serving passengers plying Vanillas, Shalom, Mlolongo and Cabannas routes along the major road.

The sacco however did not reveal if it would offer free rides to customers as has been the norm whenever it launches new routes.

The Sacco has been rapidly expanding across the Nairobi Metropolitan and reaching out to customers living in various satellite towns by tapping into key routes to stamp its authority in the industry.

In addition, its affordable fares compared to other matatu saccos and professionalism, especially among its conductors have made Super Metro a fan favourite amongst Nairobi commuters.

The Sacco was well known for operating the Kikuyu Route 105 and along Thika Road (Juja 236 to Makongeni 237) routes before it expanded quickly to other routes to meet customer demand.

In addition, it has put in place strict rules that investors, drivers and conductors have to follow or risk being kicked out of the Sacco. This includes the vehicles being in tip-top shape all the time and if a bus is spotted having broken down while ferrying passengers could attract disciplinary action.

Super Metro's continued desire for improvement in service delivery to Nairobi commuters has helped it win over its customer base. Nairobians opt to withstand long queues at its termini in the CBD to get a customer-first service.

On Wednesday, November 1, Super Metro partnered with the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) and Metro Trans Limited to launch the new generation electric commuter buses to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.

The 7th generation electric buses come with enhanced security features to protect passengers travelling into and out of the major international airport.

The security features include strict background checks for staff running the buses and thorough screening as part of its standard hiring procedures to protect the passengers and enhance customer experience.

Others include a real-time Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking system for monitoring the buses as well as CCTV surveillance to help in tracking down those who may commit crimes during the trips between the Central Business District (CBD) to JKIA.

On Monday, October 9, Super Metro announced that it would commence operations between the CBD and JKIA, with free rides on its first trip as part of its new strategy to open up easy access to the airport for passengers aiming to catch their flights on time.
