Former President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed his support for his party leader, Raila Odinga and his anti-President William Ruto agenda in their first joint rally since the August 9, 2022, general elections.
While addressing a roadside rally in Luanda in Vihiga County on Saturday, February 11, Uhuru reiterated that he was still part of the Azimio coalition despite the cracks emerging in the wake of some of the Azimio MPs meeting the President.
According to him, he follows Raila during his post-election journey where he has been staging anti-government rallies within Nairobi and parts of the country and still listens to his advice.

"I have retired, but I am not tired. Some of us become more energetic after retirement. I am still an ardent supporter of Raila Odinga. If he tells me to go, we will go together," Uhuru addressed, much to the delight of the crowd surrounding Raila and his convoy.
"I supported him last time, and I will continue supporting him because I know he is honest and seeks to unite the country. And that is within my rights."
According to the former President, Raila could not let him go without addressing their supporters, hence the roadside stopovers after the duo attended the burial of former Education CS, the late Prof George Magoha earlier on.
Uhuru added that despite not seeking any political seat, he would be willing to support Raila if he decided to vie for a record sixth time for the presidency.
"I am not looking for any political seat, but I will be ready to support Raila when he seeks any elective seat. The divisive politics will not solve the drought facing Kenyans, that I can assure you," he added.
He further advocated for the cost of living to be addressed among other challenges, piling pressure on the current government that succeeded him.
Uhuru however avoided revisiting previous scenarios affecting him and his family, including the withdrawal of his security detail and the tax evasion claims targeted at his family members.
Odinga on his part continued his relentless attacks on the President Ruto-led government and called them out for failing to meet the promises they made over the campaign period, including the lowering of the cost of unga.
He further called out the section of leaders elected under Azimio la Umoja affiliate parties pledging allegiance to the government and asked Kenyans to shun them, even as he promised a revolution against the Kenya Kwanza regime.
"There is a section of MPs who are being taken for a ride, stating that they are looking for development. There is no development in State House. Those who are going there are doing so to satisfy their bellies.
"We have said if they have been infected with political prostitution, they should leave. We would rather be left with a few who have an agenda than have many of them who are scared and selfish," he addressed.
