Trace Radio, under Trace Eastern Africa, an urban entertainment and edutainment channel has unveiled former Homeboyz Radio host and MC, Neville Musya as its new presenter.

In a press release sent to Viral Tea's newsdesk on Monday, July 18, Musya will be the new drive show host starting today alongside DJ Mr Fabz, who is currently at the radio station.

The presenter, who describes himself as energetic, forward moving and the guy that provides the vibes joins Fabz and MGM who have dominated the timeslot as a music-only segment.

This new change comes as the show format changes adding an extra hour to its schedule starting at 3:00 pm and ending at 7:00 pm.

“It feels great to be back on the radio after just over one year. I love the vibes and promise Nevites and all Trace fans an electric experience on the new drive show,” he said adding that his mantra is to be a light to this generation and give the best, all the time.

“Trace Drive has a great following thanks to our Dj’s Fabz and MGM, and now Neville will add on to the flavour of the show with his energetic personality and ability to connect with a variety of people on and off air,” said Trace East Africa Managing Director (MD), Danny Mucira.

Mucira added that the changes presented an opportunity for increased audience engagement and more presenter-driven segments.

Musya was amongst Homeboyz presenters Shaffie Weru and popular Disc-jockey Joseph Munoru alias Dj Joe Mfalme who were terminated from the Radio Africa Group-owned station on March 28, 2021 over alleged Gender-based violence utterances.

Since then, he has gone under the radar, but returned in another area by venturing into acting featuring in a blockbuster series titled ‘Four Play’.

The show in which he was featured describes the everyday fast life of Nairobi, the toxicity of the urban city, the indicting side of sponsors, relationship struggles, and other trials in the city.

He played the part of a young boy trying to get into an emotional affair with a lady still in the urban setup.

In a statement dated March 27, the media house indicated that the decision to fire the trio was reached after a comprehensive review of the comments made on the station’s Thursday morning show, adding that the topic in discussion was neither approved nor authorised by the management.

According to the statement, the company had established that the conduct of the three constituted gross misconduct leading to a breach of the company’s editorial policy.
