Former Laikipia County Woman Representative Cate Waruguru was treated to an exquisite romantic dinner by her husband over the weekend as they flew to the United States (US) to celebrate her 37th birthday.
Waruguru and her husband, Peter Waweru were joined by close friends during their getaway in Dallas, a modern metropolis city in the American state of Texas.
The former Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) nominee rocked a dazzling pink dress with leg stockings to spice up her look while Waweru donned a black blazer and trousers to match as well as a cream-white shirt.

In her appreciation post on Facebook, Waruguru appreciated her husband for the romantic gesture as well as the love and support he has given her over the years.
“Dear Husband Peter Waweru. Thank you a million times for showering me with your unconditional love. My deepest appreciation once again for celebrating my 37th birthday in a special way in Dallas, Texas.
“Seven represents completion & perfection. I dearly thank God that He made you my life partner & beshty wangu wa nguvu. You have shown love unconditional continuas mapenzi. Your Faith in God and fervent Prayer has taught me the power of patience in life,” Waruguru wrote on Facebook.
In the photos she shared, Waruguru is seen leaning into Waweru, sharing smiles and cutting the cake.
Waruguru was a Woman Rep between 2017 and 2022. She unsuccessfully tried to vie for the Laikipia East parliament seat when she lost in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party primaries.
She would later be appointed by President William Ruto as one of the 50 CASs in the Kenya Kwanza administration, but the appointments were revoked by the High Court.
Waweru on the other hand is a wealthy businessman and also serves as the secretary of the Kenya Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
He revealed in 2021 that he divorced his first wife, Zipporah and that his relationship with Waruguru was brewed during a time when he was experiencing frustrations in his first marriage.
As one of Waweru's childhood friends, Waruguru expressed empathy about his situation and they struck a cordial relationship.
The two later solidified their relationship by going through the Kikuyu customary marriage process and have since designated the titles of "husband" and "wife" to each other.
