Royal Media Services (RMS) Editorial Director Linus Kaikai on Sunday, April 28 joined the rest of the staff at the Kilimani-based media house in bidding farewell to their colleague, Victoria Rubadiri, as she exits Citizen TV.

In a statement on X, Kaikai lauded Rubadiri's exceptional professional skills during her tenure at Citizen TV since 2018 as well as their working relationship while they were at the Nation Media Group (NMG).

Rubadiri will exit the country's biggest TV station after she graced the screens with flair and rose to become one of the country’s most sought-after talents in the media industry.

"We nicknamed #SundayLive the ‘American Edition’ because this pair rolls Uncle Sam’s tongue just right! Sadly but proudly, Victoria Rubadiri proceeds to her next duty station after 6 years with Citizen TV

"Vicky is an epic performer; a dutiful professional with whom we’ve worked across two media houses. Best wishes for your next assignment, Vicky!" posted Kaikai.

Rubadiri's exit was confirmed by Viral Tea, with sources telling us that she had already tendered her resignation and had been serving notice.

A farewell party was held in her honour the previous weekend and it is anticipated that RMS staff will cut a cake to honour her tenure at the station.

Her last bulletin to present at the Dennis Pritt Road-based media house would be the Sunday Live this Sunday, April 28, before she heads off to the international media house CNN.

Reports indicate that she is set to join CNN as Africa's correspondent. Ironically, this would see her reunite with Larry Madowo, who was her old partner while they were at NTV. Madowo is currently CNN's international correspondent.

It is yet to be established who will replace Rubadiri at the TV station.

She hosted several shows including Citizen Weekend on Saturdays, where she gave prominence to many issues especially those touching on social norms and culture.

She also hosted Sunday Live every Sunday with acclaimed journalist, Jeff Koinange, a show that has also featured some of the country's biggest televised stories.

Throughout her career, Rubadiri has become one of the most sought-after journalists for her ability to tell compelling stories.

In 2020, she won the BBC World News Komla Dumor Award, allowing her to attend a training course with the BBC Academy and join the News team for three months.
