Comedian Jasper Muthomi aka MC Jessy has conceded defeat in the South Imenti Parliamentary race.

Taking to his Facebook page on Wednesday, August 10, Jessy thanked his supporters for standing by him during his political journey.

"To the People of South Imenti Constituency, I sincerely thank you so much for the time we have interacted during our campaign time. It has been a great journey.

"A journey of amazing political adventure. A journey of daring hearts. We will continue to engage as we look forward to Next time. God willing," he stated in part.

"I personally want to congratulate my worthy competitor Dr Shadrack as he prepares to be the new Mp for South Imenti.

"To my supporters take heart ni Siasa tu (It's just politics), let’s keep moving South Imenti as one Great Community. God bless you all," he added.

At the same time, Charles Kibiru of the Jubilee party conceded defeat in the Kirinyaga Governor race as NARC Kenya's Kabando wa Kabando accepted defeat in the Nyeri senatorial race.

Kabando on his part announced that he would still be involved in matters of public interest while wishing his competitors well in the race to serve the senate.

"Our Nyeri First campaign is on pro-people policy issues: basic needs and basic rights. Voters have spoken. It's my turn to concede, which I do.

"Congrats to all winners. As always, I remain actively involved in matters of public interest. Thank you, Nyeri," he stated.

Their concession comes amidst a field day of dropouts by Members of Parliament. Ndaragwa MP and Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni had lost his bid to defend his seat to George Gachagua.

"Great Ndaragwa, Thank you for the opportunity to serve you, it has been an honour. I accept the results with honour and contentment.

Congratulations to the incoming MP Hon George Gachagua. My great appreciation to my family, staff, campaign team and Ndaragwa community," he stated.

Anita Soina also dropped out, but from the Kajiado North parliamentary race. She was the youngest person in the country to vie for a parliamentary seat.
