Content creator, Eve Mungai on Saturday, March 2 expressed her delight at the rapid success of her solo YouTube channel, Mungai Eve Media, hours after she officially announced its launch.

Though she indicated that she had already clocked more than 10,000 subscribers in a caption to a video of her appreciating her fans for the support via Instagram, spot checks by Viral Tea can reveal that she had surpassed the 11,000 subscribers mark.

In fact, at the time of going to press, the newly launched channel had already amassed close to 12,000 subscribers, with only two videos posted on the platform so far; both involving controversial media personality, Andrew Kibe, who was her first guest on the new channel.

She expressed her appreciation to God for bringing her to where she is currently as well as the Mungai Eve Media team and its followers for supporting her from the get-go.

"Way back when I started the content creation journey you've been there, you've supported me, you've always fought the battles for me and I thank God for you guys. I'm here to tell you guys that at any point in life, you should never be afraid of starting over again and I believe in this journey that we are going to walk together because we have amazing plans for you all," she stated in the clip.

"We are going to create more content to inspire you out there and also empower you guys to make a difference."

This comes hours after she released a statement explaining the aim of the revamped Mungai Eve, which would be bursting with authentic storytelling, empowering messages, and a positive impact on people's world.

"At Mungai Eve, we've always strived to share captivating stories that resonate with your soul. Now, with a brand new look and feel, we're taking things a step further. We'll continue to curate engaging content but with an even greater focus on inspiring you to reach your full potential and empowering you to make a difference.

"So, join us on this exciting journey as we explore the human experience, celebrate diversity, and ignite positive change - together. Buckle up, get ready to be inspired, and welcome to the new era of Mungai Eve," she stated in part on Friday, March 1.

The announcement marked a significant turning point for Mungai, who in four years rose from the COVID-19 pandemic to become one of the most popular online TV personalities in Kenya.

The split from Director Trevor had led to much speculation about the future of Mungai Eve Media, with Trevor taking over the previous joint channel and rebranding it as Kenya Online Media (KOM).

The media house had previously reported that Mungai was considering venturing solo on her YouTube journey following her personal and professional split from Trevor.

Moments after Mungai's announcement, Trevor wrote on his Instastories that "From Kenya Online Media (KOM) we wish Mungai Eve all the best in her new journey."

A debate had ensued following Trevor's decision to cut ties with Mungai completely, with some arguing that the producer known for his stellar works in digital video production would stand to lose the most given that Mungai had amassed the numbers and popularity when she co-owned the YouTube channel as well as social media audiences in Facebook and Instagram.

However, others believed that Trevor would improve on his craft owing to being the main reason behind Mungai's success. Trevor was also her director and photographer, who inspired her to start her channel.

Nonetheless, Mungai's decision to continue under the original brand name suggests a strong connection to her audience and a desire to maintain continuity in her digital presence.

Her emphasis on "authentic storytelling" and "empowering messages" hints at a content strategy that goes beyond entertainment, aiming to inspire action and reflection among her viewers.

The mention of exploring the human experience and celebrating diversity suggests a broadening of scope for the channel, potentially incorporating more varied formats and subjects than before.
