We Will Impeach You Like Gachagua: Junet Warns Incoming CSs
The Minority Leader in the National Assembly, who appeared on the floor of the House, called on the nominees and everyone in President William Ruto's broad-based Cabinet to serve every Kenyan diligently.

Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed on Thursday, January 16 warned Cabinet Secretaries, including Mutahi Kagwe, William Kabogo and Lee Kinyanjui, that he would not entertain disrespect towards the government and its policies, as has been the case with Public Service CS Justin Muturi on the matter of abductions.
The Minority Leader in the National Assembly, who appeared on the floor of the House, called on the nominees and everyone in President William Ruto's broad-based Cabinet to serve every Kenyan diligently.
Kagwe (Agriculture), Kinyanjui (Trade) and Kabogo (ICT) were earlier approved by the National Assembly Committee on Appointments to join President Ruto's Cabinet Secretarial team and MPs later voted in favour of their approval. All that is left now is for President Ruto to formally appoint them.
While giving the CS the option of resigning so that they can fulfil their own interests, Junet cautioned that Parliament would initiate impeachment motions against CSs who play tribal politics, as was the case with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

"Cabinet Secretaries must serve all Kenyans. If you want to serve your village, go and become an MCA or a chief," a tough-talking Junet fired, adding "I am sending a warning to CSs that if they take the direction of Wamunyoro, we will impeach you."
Taking aim at CS Muturi, Junet accused him of contravening his oath of secrecy when he released some of the intricate details of the son's abduction and subsequent release.
Junet was referring to Muturi's explosive statement to police where he alleged that his son, Leslie, was abducted by the National Intelligence Service (NIS) but released after he sought intervention from President Ruto.
"Public service is a calling and you should do it so long as you have been given an opportunity. When you feel that your belief is not compatible with the government you're serving, the best thing is to resign," the lawmaker noted.
"Don't bring unnecessary fights within the government, be a man enough. If you feel you can’t serve the government anymore, go farming. You can't be a CS who's issuing views to what the government is saying. It's immoral."
Speaking during Parliamentary Proceedings, the MP questioned why Muturi did not disclose the reasons behind the police arresting his son.
Junet also raised concerns about the timing and wondered why the CS waited seven months after his son was released to point fingers at state agencies.
"If my son is arrested by police, I should also tell the country why he was arrested. Why do you wait for seven months to speak? Why can't you discuss things at that level with the people who are concerned?" he posed.
He called on CS Muturi to resign if he felt his views no longer aligned with the government's agenda.
