Ageyo Declares 3 Editorial Posts Vacant In Latest Nation Changes [LIST]

Nation Media Group (NMG) Editorial Director Joe Ageyo on Wednesday, April 26 announced a fresh wave of appointments and changes at the regional media house.

The changes depicted in an internal memo to staff, seen by Viral Tea, affected various departments including the Planning and Newsdesk department which is composed of planning editors, news editors and Research editors, the Editorial Brands department, the Content Hubs department, the Audience and Engagement department and the News Production department.

"As you are aware, our newsroom integration project is now well underway. Earlier this month, we put in place a team of senior editors to oversee the various functions in our integrated structure.

"That team has so far undertaken a review of our content direction and agreed on specific deliverables to deepen our journalism going forward. In order to accelerate this process of transforming our journalism, I wish to announce the following appointments as part of our new newsroom structure," Ageyo stated in part.

One of the notable names affected by the changes was the Managing Editor at NTV, Ben Kitili, who was moved to the position of News Editor, where he will work alongside Allan Olingo.

Patrick Langat was named the Planning Editor while Daisy Okoti was moved from an Impact Editor to a Research Editor.

Dann Mwangi, who served as the Digital and Innovation Editor and News anchor, was appointed the Broadcast News Lead Editor.

Jackson Mutinda was appointed the Lead Editor, of The East African while Gilbert Mogire took up the role of Taifa Leo's lead editor.

Paul Wafula was picked as the Lead Editor of the Business Daily while Alex Ndegwa and Mike Owuor were appointed lead editors for Saturday Nation and Sunday Nation respectively. John Kiplagat was picked as the Lead Editor for the Daily Nation.

Three positions including Editor, Native Content, Chief Production Editor (Online) and Chief Production Editor (Video/Audio) were declared vacant.

"Please note that the vacant positions will be filled in due course through a competitive process," Ageyo added.
