Former socialite cum entrepreneur Faith Makau, alias Amber Ray, announced on Monday, May 15 that she welcomed her first child with businessman fiancé, Kennedy Rapudo.

Amber shared a video on her Instagram account taking her followers through what looks like the Presidential Suite of the Nairobi Hospital where she stayed during the period of her delivery.

She was seen lying on the hospital bed with Rapudo sitting beside her, tenderly holding her hands and the newborn lying on a cradle beside them.

Accompanying the scene is the sweet melody of "My Sweet Love" by Wahu, embedded into the video as part of the Instagram Reels format.

Amber Ray captioned by introducing her newborn baby girl to her fans while thanking Rapudo for his unwavering support, despite playing cagey with the newborn's name, only referring to her as 'baby A'.

"About the saying ‘you only live once “I’m starting to wonder how true that is! Could it be true that one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day? I may have a few more unanswered questions, but as for now…

"My man is with me as the angel of my house and I’m a brand new mummy! Welcome home baby A…I have felt you all this life and now I get to see you, hear you and touch you…IT’S A BRAND NEW LIFE. A life of many lives," Amber Ray captioned the video.

Rapudo on his part expressed his admiration for Amber's growth during the period in which she was expectant, further revealing the lessons he picked from her pregnancy journey.

"Watched how you changed by the day and I marvelled at your strength, baby love. I couldn't imagine the stress of carrying another human in a body because I have never experienced that.

"You taught me what real strength is as you endured every kick and change just to give me a child. You are wonderful, and I'm grateful for the gift of you. You have proven yet again that you are specially made for me. Congrats, baby love," he said. 

Nairobi Hospital also shared photos of Amber at the ward alongside its staff, sharing congratulatory messages to her.

The two captions posted at once by the couple appeared to have put to bed any breakup rumours that dominated the internet for weeks.

On Wednesday, March 29, Rapudo declared that he would take care of his child, whether or not they actually decide to part ways.

"Kenyans with conclusions. The baby is mine and I'll take care of it with/out a breakup.

"I've never shied away from parental duties," he stated at the time.

The rumours began four months since Rapudo proposed to Amber during their two-day layover in Dubai when Amber wrote on her Instagram stories stating "A new day to start as a single mother of two…" and added the hashtag "#Donewithlove."

Rapudo reacted to the statement by revealing that the truth surrounding their rumoured breakup will come to light. Thereafter, both Rapudo and Amber's names were trending on Twitter by the afternoon hours, with the former forced to step in to extinguish the fire generated by their fans given the celebrity status of their relationship.

Amber Ray hosted a gender reveal party, with events leading up to it composed of a chopper ride to the venue for her as well as a billboard along the streets of Nairobi to announce her gender reveal party set for Saturday, March 11.

In the billboard, Amber posed holding her bulging belly with writing; "Is it a boy or a girl?", an announcement coming after she and her fiance Kennedy Rapudo announced they were expecting their first child together on January 4, 2023, later revealed to be a girl.

The two lovebirds who have one kid each from their previous relationships got engaged in Dubai in November 2022 after their return to Nairobi from Mauritius was interrupted by the Kenya Airways pilots' strike in November.
