YouTuber and influencer Eve Mungai has denounced the sentiments made by a purported General Service Unit (GSU) officer who accused her of dumping him after being famous.

In a statement seen by Viral Tea on Wednesday, October 5, Mungai affirmed that she began her content creating career alongside her director Trevor, who also happens to be her boyfriend, and not through the officer.

She termed the sentiments as false and for purposes of gaining attention emanating from a person she noted was not a police officer.

"I began my journey as a content creator with sheer hard work alongside my director from the humble days of "Gotta City" up to where I am out of persistence and trusting the process. My YouTube channel speaks for itself and is a true reflection of who I am and how I have grown as a brand with my team.

"Wild allegations have been made against me numerous times before and I have been vindicated. Interestingly, of late, a video has circulated and has suffered the same fate where I have been vindicated that it was for purposes of clout chasing and gaining followers via falsehoods and publications of unprintable lies by a person purported to be a police officer and is not," she stated in part.

Mungai further cited Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, 2018 which states that "A person who knowingly publishes information that is false in print, broadcast, data or over a computer system, that is calculated or results in panic, chaos or violence among citizens of the Republic, or which is likely to discredit the reputation of a person commits an offence and shall on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding five million shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years, or to both" in relation to the case.

According to her, the officer attempted to tarnish her image as well as her ties with business partners and the media, but held conversations with her lawyer and accepted liability.

"I have taken this opportunity as a duty to educate and inform the public about the dangers of false publications and the consequences thereof. The latest author has attempted to damage my reputation among my peers, business partners and media colleagues in general hence threatening my whole entity as a brand.

"He has accepted liability after he has had a conversation with my Advocate on the impact it has made which is negative thereof," she added.

With numerous claims that the individual was believed to be an officer owing to the uniform worn while the video was taken, the National Police Service (NPS) was yet to comment on the issue.

The individual, on his part, acknowledged the virality of the video whereby he accused her of abandoning him after allegedly helping him out in the early stages of her content creation, to the point that his grandmother had even called him as a result.

He appealed to the content creator for forgiveness as well as the companies with business deals with her, as well as Trevor.

"I went to the internet and found that I was clout chasing Mungai Eve, so I'm sure she will see this. I know she will understand, I'm just a content creator, and so are you, I did not do it with bad intentions but I came to realise later that I can spoil for you either in terms of family, or job.

"Mungai Eve, I'm begging you to forgive me, I'm also asking for forgiveness from the big companies you represent out there and I'm also asking for forgiveness from Trevor; don't beat me...I'm just a content creator like any other," he stated in a video seen by Viral Tea.

The cop further appealed to his fans not to take him seriously adding that he doesn't have bad blood with Mungai, nor has he even met her.
