Viral Kenyan TikToker, Gloria Ntazola has issued an apology to the unidentified Nairobi County Council askari officer, popularly known as a 'kanjo', whom she filmed entering her vehicle illegally.

Speaking to journalists while she was hosted at Radio Africa Group (RAG) offices in Westlands, Nairobi, Ntazola regretted the vulgar language she used while reprimanding the officer in the clip.

She lamented that the officer had caught her on a bad day when her landlord had increased her rent amidst her business struggling to make profits.

"I want to apologise for my language toward the kanjo officer. That is really not my normal behaviour. When I left the house, my landlord had increased my rent. Also, business has not been good; we are struggling to make money," she stated.

The female motorist added that her mother admonished her after watching the viral clip, and she had to explain herself to her.

She added that she would look for the officer with the intention of repaying him and addressing the issue which saw her drive off with the officer to as far as Kitengela town.

"Later on I'm going to look for this guy, I have to apologise to him for calling him the DOG word. I don't need to apologise in public because people will start saying I am clout-chasing," she noted.

"I'll find my time and since I know where he is normally based, I'll look for him and buy him some tea and sort things out."

However, the 25-year-old made it clear that she would repeat the same against other officers in a similar confrontation, warning "If it happens again I will carry them, and take them to court, or to Mtito Andei police station, I buy them food then abandon them. I'm a little crazy with a little ghetto, sometimes you have to be a little ghetto to survive in the streets."

"Apart from Kanjo, I'd like to carry the traffic officers," she cautioned.

At the same time, Ntazola declared that she would contest for the Nairobi Woman Representative position in 2027, affirming that she was ready for endorsement to clinch the position.

Meanwhile, a report submitted to the office of Nairobi Acting County Secretary Patrick Analo by the county security department revealed that the officer was off the hook, meaning that no disciplinary action would be taken against him, despite a previous and contrary statement in the wake of the matter which sparked uproar nationwide.

Analo stated that the traffic marshal officer acted in line with what has been happening within the Nairobi CBD to deal with traffic-related incidents, slamming Ntazola for acting against the law.

“The lady was wrong. He wanted to prevent the lady from double-parking but he became a bit argumentative,” Analo told NTV.

He added that according to the report, the officer tried to stop Ntazola from committing a traffic offence but she became violent, and was about to run away when the officer forcefully interfered with her vehicle.

“Do you think our officer just did that out of nowhere? This is an experienced officer who had handled more than 200 cars on that same within the town.”

Accordingly, Analo noted that traffic marshals have been using the same mechanism to prevent traffic offences, where culprits usually commit an offence and run away, which according to the county secretary, can cause accidents if not well handled.

He also expressed his fears about the security of the officer after the lady abducted him and drove while the car’s doors were locked all the way to Kitengela.
