Marriage proposals happen every day but many couples allocate Valentines' Day as the one special day to pop the big question.

On Tuesday, February 14, more than three famous figures across the circles of politics and entertainment have gone down on one knee and proposed to their significant lovers, and vice versa in the case of women.

Viral Tea takes a look at which influential figure has proposed to and has been proposed to and the outcome:

Linet Toto

It was just a day ago when Bomet Woman Representative Linet Chepkorir alias Toto was hit by a lawsuit from two of her county residents over alleged nepotism. Now, she's off the market.

Photos seen by Viral Tea showed her being proposed to by a man identified as Bomet businessman Godfrey Kimutai who went down on one knee and presented what looked like an engagement ring to her.

Kimutai asked the big question in a room that is aptly decorated with red heart-shaped balloons, white and red rose petals and illuminated with candles as close friends and family looked on. The message "Will you marry me?" was also captured in the background of one of the photographs.

A subsequent photograph showed the couple posing in a warm embrace, as Toto holds a bouquet of flowers after the Woman Rep evidently agreed to tie the knot with her now fiancé Kimutai.

The news of the proposal, which is yet to be officially announced by the couple on any of their social media platforms by the time of publication, came as a surprise to Kenyans on Twitter since the soft-spoken politician has rarely ever been seen in public with her lover.

Toto rose to fame after the August 2022 polls when she clinched Bomet's Woman Rep seat after garnering 242,775 votes to floor other nine seasoned politicians who were in the race, including then Nominated Senator Alice Milgo who came a distant second with 43,180 votes.

She rattled the Azimio la Umoja coalition after she slammed party leader, Raila Odinga for his protest rallies against the President William Ruto-led government.

Eric Omondi

The comedian on the same day proposed to his long-time girlfriend Lynne Njehia, who showcased a ring on her finger he gave her.

"New chapter same book. Words can’t express how happy I am, I love you Babyy, Eric Omondi," she posted.

In September 2022, Lynne posted a video of her and Omondi smooching on a boat cruise, stating that she loved doing life with him. She later revealed through a Q&A session with her fans that Omondi was her man, confirming they were in a relationship.

Lynne is a 21-year-old model who started doing influencer work at the age of 19.

In November 2022, Omondi shared a video of Lynne crying beside a hospital bed and announced that she had suffered a miscarriage.

Prezzo

Jackson Ngechu or popularly known as CMB Prezzo, electrified the mood at NRG Radio studios in Nairobi when he proposed to radio presenter Azeezah Hashim.

In a video seen by Viral Tea, Prezzo was seen interrupting Azeezah who was on her duty to present her with a bouquet of flowers, much to her delight.

She was however not prepared for what was to follow. Prezzo revealed a box containing what appeared to be an engagement ring before going down on one knee and popping the big question.

Azeezah then reached out to Prezzo to give him a big hug as her colleagues who were watching and filming the proceedings clapped and cheered on. In the age whereby celebrities have been accused of interpreting real-life events as staged, Viral Tea could not independently ascertain whether or not the stunt was real.

Dubbed, The Media Messiah, Azeezah is a young, fast-rising Media personality who hosts one of the biggest and freshest morning breakfast shows on radio, the NRG Breakfast Club, every Monday to Friday.

Furthermore, she is a TV presenter on NTV's Teen Republik and on the side, she is a corporate and events MCEE. Owing to her deep and captivating voice, Azeezah is also a voice-over artist.

Prezzo was born in Nairobi in the 80s and grew up in the streets of Eastleigh. He started his music dream way back but only blew up in the early years of the 21st century.

Natalie Tewa

Despite her proposal coming two days to Valentines, this was one eventuality that made the Kenyan influencer and content creator trend for nearly two days on social media.

On Sunday, February 12, she announced through her Instagram stories that she is now engaged to Francis Mbugua Mugane, her longtime boyfriend who is a travel, fashion and food content creator based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The two lovers had hosted friends in Nairobi when Mbugua popped the big question, and the ravishingly beautiful diva responded with "Yes".

The series of photos of her engagement in an intimate ceremony in Nyali, Mombasa, therefore, marks the first time photos of the two have been released on the internet, given that they don't have pictures of each other on their respective feeds, possibly to avoid gossip as well.

Mbugua and Tewa were reported to have gone out on a date when the surprise proposal emerged thanks to Mbugua proposing to her with a glittering diamond ring, which she flaunted on her IG while sharing a series of clips of the couple cuddled together.

Mbugua currently works as the director of strategy and operations for payments at Booking.com, a subsidiary of Booking Holdings and headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
