DCI Arrest Ugandan Housemaid In Daring Eastleigh Robbery After 2-Month Manhunt
The investigative agency revealed that the nanny was on the run following her involvement in the daring robbery plot

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a Ugandan househelp, two months since she played a role in a shocking assault inside a home in Eastleigh, Nairobi targeting her employer.
In a statement on Tuesday, January 7, the investigative agency revealed that the nanny was on the run following her involvement in the daring robbery plot captured on CCTV and first reported by Viral Tea on November 3, 2024, two days after the incident unfolded.
"Nabalayo Everline Loice, 23 years old, has been taken into custody by detectives from DCI Starehe after a robbery incident that unfolded on November 1, 2024," stated the DCI in part.

According to reports filed at Pangani Police Station, Nabalayo was in the house with a colleague housemaid when she intentionally opened the door, admitting an unknown assailant armed with a hammer.
In a shocking turn of events, the duo reportedly assaulted the other maid, leaving her for dead in the bathroom.
They then made off with a haul that included a gold set valued at Ksh210,000, a laptop worth Ksh110,000, and a smartphone priced at Ksh15,000.
The woman eluded detectives who finally caught up to her when she was boarding a bus to Uganda as a means of escape.
"After days of manhunt, detectives have finally apprehended Nabalayo at Kariokor while she was attempting to escape on a bus bound for Uganda. She is currently in police custody undergoing processing, pending arraignment," added the DCI.
Meanwhile, the detectives revealed that the manhunt for her accomplice, who remains at large, is still in full swing.
In a previous statement on the case, the DCI revealed that investigations revealed that the househelp actively facilitated the entry and could have assisted in the assault and subsequent robbery.
Reports indicated that the owner of the home and her children were not in the house at the time of the incident.
The househelp, along with the thug she let into the house, stole the valuables, leaving the young girl, a 20-year-old woman who was of Somali descent, unconscious.
The incident was reported to the police. The woman sustained severe injuries, including a broken tooth, head trauma, and injuries to her hands and legs.
She also bore whipping marks across her back. She was discharged from the hospital after undergoing treatment.
