Nairobi private investigator, Jane Mugo, could be the newest name to exit the singles market following her low-key engagement.

Taking to social media on Tuesday, July 12, the tough-stance detective announced her engagement to a man identified as Boaz Romano.

She showed off a ring that was placed on her finger by her lover and termed the latest development as an answered prayer.

While confessing that she never documents episodes of her romantic life, she noted that despite Romano not being her first love, he has made her a better woman.

She further encouraged her followers not to give up in their quest to find true love.

"God, I have never shared my love journey on social media but since I decided to encourage someone to confess God fulfils his promise & found my perfect match Allow me.

"May you protect this man. He may not be my first love, but he has made me become a better woman...my followers. May God give you true heart desires young, old, or average. If you are in a broken relationship or seeking true love," she wrote.

Mugo, who went viral thanks to her taekwondo moves in a BBC investigative series in January 2021 and is known for taking on big cases, assured her followers that true love was real. So much so that she had fasted in secret, asking God to grant her a good man.

She also described the qualities of Romano and appealed to the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to continue fighting to defend Kenya from external threats.

"It exists. I remember secretly fasting & asking my church to pray for this private man. This man is the other part of me. God-fearing, courageous, generous, aggressive, intelligent, in security but very private.

"Even the mighty fall in love. KDF, continue fighting for our sovereignty your tough training & discipline has built my Man," she concluded.

Mugo has two children from her previous relationship. BBC took a special look into the little-known life of the private detective, known amongst those in her profession who keep many of their details under wraps.

She lives in a highly-guarded compound on the outskirts of Nairobi, coupled with four hawk-eyed bodyguards, two dogs on the compound among four that she owns and many cameras around the compound and inside her house.

Inside the house features luxurious decor with artistically created low-hanging lights in the living room and family photos mounted around the wall. She normally is on high alert regarding the meals she takes after an attempt to poison her in 2018.

"There is a time people were trying to poison me. I am a bit careful when I am going to get my lunch," she revealed in the interview, adding that her personal chefs and guards must taste the food before she eats.
